Guinness yawned tiredly. She had been up all night tending to the cubs, and she still hadn't received a thank you from any of the mothers. She slowly rose to her paws and eyed the cubs warily. They had been biting her tail and ear way to hard. They never treated their mothers that way though. One cub had bite her one time too many and got yelled at with the force of a thousand lions. The cubs, lionesses, and even the male that protected the pride treated her like she was suppose to take care of all the cubs when that part was volunteer work. "Hey? It's time for you to play with us." One cub said, strolling over. Guinness had forgotten the cub's name, not that it mattered. All she knew was that this cub was the bane of her existence. "What makes you think I want to play with you and your friends?" She asked the cub. "Do you really have a choice?" He replied. That one comment sparked frustration and anger that Guinness had been saving up for some time. "I'm not playing with you or the other cubs for the rest of your annoying lives! Why don't you go bother your mothers and leave me alone?!" She bellowed. Everyone looked at her as if she was crazy. Without needing to look, Guinness could tell the king was displeased with her outburst but she didn't care. She turned away from her pride members and stalked off.
Guinness was quite happy being by herself. She was a skilled huntress and didn't need to have other prey to the hunting for her. She ate well during the wet season and survived during the dry season. However, she had felt a sense of loneliness. She was about to shrug away the idea of becoming a member of a pride when she met Gwynnavere. It had been a cold day. Guinness had been out hunting when she crashed into a lioness. The lioness looked at Guinness and a smile seemed to play on her face. "You were hunting by yourself?" The lioness asked. Guinness shook her head, not feeling at all worried about the lioness. "Yeah, I guess." She replied. "My name is Gwynnavere and you seemed like a very capable lioness. By the looks of it you don't have a pride so why not come back to mine? The universe told me I would run into a lioness today and she would become my successor." Gwynnavere said. Guinness blinked, now thinking the lioness was crazy. But after a moment of thought Guinness decided she had nothing to lose. "Successor you say? I think I will have to take you up on that offer." Gwynnavere just smiled.

In her several months as part of the pride, she had grown confident in her leadership skills as queen under Gwynnavere's tutelage, and developed a deep relationship with the king. Ahortly after Gwynnavere's passing, a terrible sickness had passed through the pride, however, and King Dash was one of two casualties, the other being an elder lioness who had served her time loyally her whole life. Heartbroken and with no one else to turn to, Guinness finally gave Dash's successor a chance, and they live happily side by side ruling and protecting their pride.
