I nodded, and dashed to Propane Nightmare, who was surveying the clearing. I breathlessly asked her to accompany me, and she agreed. We raced out of the clearing, my clear blue eyes scanning the bushes, and her hard cognac eyes searching the trees. With a twitch of my ear, we both crouched down into a hunter's crouch, and as silent as a shadow, cornered the buck that had thought he was so clever, hiding in a bush. We worked as a team, killing him with a fatal bite, and dragged him home for the pride. As soon as we passed the brambles, cubs were bombarding me and Nightmare from every which way. Knowing Nightmares feelings toward the king, I left the cubs with her, and dragged the still warm carcass to the king. After he gave approval. I dashed back out to play with the cubs, teaching them hunting technique with NIghtmare. That night, as we were curled up in our nests, I heard Nightmare say, “I am thankful you are my friend.” ---- bluh
