After the harsh, but fair reign of Kot, young Amenadiel struck his pridemates as fickle and prone to bouts of needless cruelty, despite being a generally cheerful individual. He refused to pick a mate, but the serene and authoritative Lisa balanced the raucous ruler. As he matured, he became a considerate king, ruthless to those who opposed him but fiercely protective of his pride. Upon his passing, the gods have granted his wish and allowed his spirit to linger in his successor, thus prolonging his rule across two generations.




Unlike his predecessors, Kot assumed the rule after Kocur at an early age and is the first First Light king to take the evil path through life. Despite his cruel streak, he treasures his pridemates and treats them with justice. Rather than choose a queen to rule by his side, he has chosen three lionesses as his consorts: Lee Ann and Ember's last daughters, Anda and Ash.

The three lionesses have little to say under Kot's reign. Lee Ann, having been raised while Kocur was still in power, uses her wits to subdue Kot's meaner moods and slowly teaches her younger counterparts.

The Pride was renamed from Serene Winds to First Light, due to the lions' pelts ranging in hues from pitch black to subtle pink like the skies at dawn.



First Light heir, Kocur, has lost both his parents when his mother left the pride to seek her fortune in another king's territory. Before his time to assume the rule of the Serene Winds pride came, he spent years training with his adoptive father and exploring the lands on his own. As the mantle of kingship fell to him, he was old and experienced enough to steer his pride with confidence, even if his reputation still requires building. The pride was anxious to see what kind of ruler he would turn out to be, as he was a solitary creature up until coronation, preferring the open savannah to the domesticity of his den. The first days seemed to forecast a grim future for the lions of First Light - Kocur showed little warmth and his rule started out rather cruel, but before a year passed, he saw the negative impact of his selfish actions and followed in the footsteps of his adoptive father. He became respected for his fairness and kindness.

Queen Ember, previously Lady Ember, became Kocur's mate despite him being matched up with Lady Iris since they were cubs. Ember won Kocur's attention, if not quite yet love, with her unwavering loyalty to the pride, strength and kindness. As his queen, she ruled in his stead when he went exploring and hoped to give birth to an heir of her own.

In old age, Kocur became more and more distanced, seeking the company of Lady Iris and leaving the pride in the paws of Ember. The two maroon lions passed on the same day, 29th of November.



The first king of the pride, Garibaldi, was a runt chased away from a northern warlord's territory. With nothing to his name except enough wit to know how to take care of himself, he wandered the plains for several years before settling down. He claimed a small rock formation in the bend of a large river as his and made his lair in the sheltered cave overlooking the water. For years, he was building his might, expanding his territory along the banks and across the savannah, but his residence remained unchanged. He took in many lionesses during his reign, offering them shelter for a while or home for a few months. Few have won his favour and stayed for good, but for those he was kind and stopped at nothing to provide for them. Although he sired no son and no daughter that survived for long, he treated the cubs born in his pride from other fathers as his own and chose one of them as his heir.

His queen, Falka, was an older lioness he'd met on one of his many expeditions. She supported the pride greatly with her wisdom before passing away. Her death weighed visibly on the aging Garibaldi, who spends his final months wandering the wilds, leaving the pride under his heir's and lead huntresses' protection.
