Alliteration is fun! A fact that many of us overlook is that in your profile den, you can choose the type of territory your pride resides in. This is only of any note when someone happens to see your pride in the territory map. It has no affect on gameplay or anything else, really. But... what if the tile you've chosen could give your boosts and banes on certain parts of gameplay, and make it easier for certain players to play the way they want to play? For example, a rocky land is not a good place for lions to look for food, so the chance of a successful hunt is reduced, but in return, there's a higher chance for your lionesses to gain extra stats in hunting. For players like me who have small prides and play for stats, it would allow me to take a risk and have a return. On the opposite end, perhaps 'savannah' would give the opposite effect, with a reduced chance of getting stats and an increased chance of getting food. A player unlike me, who doesn't care for stats and just wants to breed pretty lions and feed their large amount of genetic stock would stay stable without having to risk anything. Maybe one territory gives a higher percent chance of litters having more cubs and another gives a lower percent chance with the cubs having a higher chance of having special markings/bases, another makes a pride's hunger drop faster but their mood doesn't rise or drop as much, another tile gives a higher chance of mutations, one tile decreases the cub mortality drop rate, another rewards more EXP, so on and so forth. Newbies would start on a neutral tile, and any player can stay on that neutral tile. This feature would help players play the way they want to play and anyone who doesn't want to keep tracks of the risks and rewards, doesn't have to. To prevent abuse of swapping between tiles rapidly, there could be a hunger and/or mood drop for the entire pride when the player wants to change their territory, or you could only swap every week or so. This would be called a migration. Any ideas for what tiles should give what benefits? What tiles should give what banes? Suggestions? Comments? Obviously I think this would be cool. If you do too, support! |
