Whisper - 5 year old 75% Friesian 25% Appaloosa Mare - Mentions: No one (open to others) Location: River A soft snort left the young mare's nostrils as she strode closer to the river amongst the thick, green grass. It was the middle of Autumn now and the cold weather was setting in. The air was so cold she could see her breath, leaves were falling from the trees rapidly, as well as the wind picking up now and then. Fortunately she had quite a thick coat, a long mane that reached past her shoulders and a long tail that brushed against the floor, as well as thick feathering around her hooves so it wouldn't be too hard to stay warm in this weather. Whisper's ears ficked backwards briefly as she heard the strong flap of wings, her head tilted up and to the left to catch sight of the Falcon that had launched itself into the sky from the canopy of the trees in the forest on the other side of the river. It was a beautiful sight but not one that would drive Whisper from leaving this side of the river. On the other side was the forest and beyond that the humans that would often come to take horses away never to be seen again. Whisper had no intention of ever meeting humans if she could help it. With a flick of her long, snow white tail she meandered further down the bank of the river in a bid to find other life within this lush meadow. Surely it wasn't as deserted as it appeared? 0 players like this post! Like? |

Chief| 3 1/2 year old 85% Kriger Mustang, 15% Caspian Horse| Mentions- No one (Open)| Location: Edge of forest The forest was quiet, not even the sound of birds could be heard echoing through the trees. A thin fog had rolled in from the river and the moors, coating the ground in a blanket of soft silver. Autumn was here, the crisp wind that teased the large stallion's mane was cold, bringing with it the smell of snow from the mountains. Leaves that had already fallen from the trees crunched beneath the weight of his hooves. His breath rose in front of him in a small cloud of mist, disappearing as quickly as it appeared. Sleek, healthy muscles moved beneath his shining grey coat. Darker grey dapples mottled his pelt. His long mane and tail, colored jet black, moved with the breeze. A soft nicker left his muzzle, offering a greeting to anyone nearby. A cry made him raise his head, and above him a falcon flew, diving into the trees and fading from sight. Chief stared after it for awhile, wondering if he should follow the flying predator. Shaking his head, he decided to move on, walking along the edge of the treeline. Chief spotted the flowing river shortly afterwards. The grass that grew on the edge of the river was soft and sweet, a good meal that he would enjoy. Letting out a happy whinny, he ducked his head, beginning to fill the void in his stomach. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Arabella // 2 years old // przewalski x fell // mentions - none // Location - grassy meadow Arabella hadn't been free in so long! She frolicked about like a week old foal, the wind whipping through her mane, the grass felt cool beneath her worn hooves. She knew it was dangerous though, being alone. Especially when you're only 2, however the danger didn't seem so scary to her, it was still better than being bossed around the way she was. She was smart though and she knew she had to find someone to group with or she could face being hunted down as an easy target. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Whisper - 5 year old 75% Friesian 25% Appaloosa Mare - Mentions: No one (open to others) Location: River Whisper's head turned as she heard hoof beats near by. Her gaze soon spotted a young filly frolicking in the grass. It was such a sweet, freeing sight to see. It was full of life and youthful joy. At first she hesitated from going to her, her shyness and quiet nature causing her to hesitate in approaching the filly but then her maternal instinct spoke up and overpowered all shyness. Picking up her feet, Whisper slowly made her way to the filly hoping that she didn't scare her off. Whisper could tell in a couple of years that the filly would be a real beauty, almost enchanting, and she couldn't help but feel the need to take her under her wing and help her reach her potential. "Hello." She greeted softly, coming to a stop not to far from the filly. Her attention was diverted though as she heard a whinny from the other side of the river. Her head shot up and turned, looking across the river to see a quite handsome stallion on the other side of the river by the thick trees of the forest. Her ears flicked back in consideration as she slowly stepped to the side away from the river as if he could fly across the river and get her at any moment. It was silly she knew, and he could be a perfectly nice stallion but she couldn't help her own instinctive reaction. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Arabella // 2 years old // przewalski x fell // mentions - none // Location - grassy meadow Arabella had been so distant she hadn't noticed the mare coming towards her and she almost jumped when she spoke. She hid the fact it had startled her though as she hated to come across weak and unaware. "Oh, hello." She smiled, he voice may have sounded somewhat sharp so she hoped the smile had warmed up the reply. The mare seemed kind so Arabella wanted to make a good impression. She wanted to know what had made the mare change mood and turned her head elegantly, not wanting to seem like she cared, but she was curious so she couldn't resist looking. She wondered why such a stallion was alone? He did seem fairly young. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Chief| 3 1/2 years old| Kriger Mustang x Caspian Horse| Mentions: Open| Location- Riverside The sound of softly spoken voiced caused him to raise his head, and when he did he caught the gaze of two young mares. Both were very beautiful, but the older one seemed to be quite wary of him. Well, it was only natural, there were some stallions that were very aggressive. But he was not one of those males. Instead of going over to them, he ducked his head in greeting, and stepped a little closer. "Hello." He called gently before going back to his meal. If they called him over then he would oblige, but until then he would leave them be. By the looks of it neither of them had a herd, for he smelled no other stallions or mares. Unless they had been separated from their families, as he had, Chief guessed that they had been born away from the wilds. Shaking his huge body, he flicked his tail to rid himself of the few remaining flies that still buzzed about. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Arabella // 2 years old // przewalski x fell // mentions - open // Location - grassy meadow Arabella hadn't seen an unrelated stallion before, so this was unusual for her, almost unsettling. He seemed kind, however. She wanted to say hi but felt compelled not too, she wasn't sure what stallions were like around here. Instead of speaking she just smiled and did a small nod of acknowledgement, trying to come across as kind. She then looked towards the mare, looking at her to see how she would react, she was a couple of years older and most likely had more experience than herself. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Whisper - 5 year old 75% Friesian 25% Appaloosa Mare - Mentions: No one (open to others) Location: River "I'm Whisper. What is your name? How come you are out here all alone?" She asked softly. Whisper didn't move any further incase she scared the young filly. After all at seventeen hands tall and her large, muscular but sleek bulk she could easily intimidate anyone. Unfortunately there were very few horses and breeds of horse that could reach the same height she could and even rarer were the ones that were taller. The only one she'd ever met had been her father who she had seen from afar, having been sent to breed with her mother again, and Whisper guessed he had only been seventeen point one hands tall, which wasn't that much taller then her. Whisper's attention was diverted as she heard a masculine voice, her head turning to gaze in the stallion's direction. He seemed a bit closer now. It was definitely him that had talked. She knew manners dictated that she should respond, it was only polite, but it was hard to battle her own shyness and quiet demeanour. She parted her lips to speak a few times but nothing came. In the end she turned her gaze back to the young filly. Stallions could be quite aggressive sometimes, especially when it was breeding season, and she didn't want anything to happen the youngster. Knowing she had to speak up to find out what agenda, if any, the stallion had Whisper returned her gaze to the stallion. "Do you come in peace stallion? I will not let you hurt either of us." 0 players like this post! Like? |

Chief| 3 1/2 years old| Kriger Mustang X Caspian Horse| Mentions: Open| Location- Riverside "Hurt you? Of course not. I am simply passing through." His deep voice rumbled across the river, carrying easily over to them. He had no intention of doing anything to harm these two mares. Chief shook out his mane, the long locks coming to rest handsomely against his neck. A very large stallion, most of his body was pure muscle on a lithe and well-built frame. Had he been born in captivity he would have been a coveted breeding stallion. The mare seemed shy and somewhat timid, but he had no doubt that she would protect herself and the young filly if the need arose. Lucky for them that a gentle stallion had been passing by. Though he was a bachelor, Chief would not force mares to join him in making a new herd. He knew all too well how it felt to be trapped, and despite his strong desire for a family, the choice would always be theirs. "It is dangerous to be out here alone. Where are your herds?" The stallion asked, tilting his head. He still did not approach, lest they think he was making a move, or attacking. Maybe they were lost? If so he might be able to help them. It was easy to tell which herds would go where, as most of them had specific places in which they liked to settle for winter. Suddenly, the sound of pounding hooves reached his ears, and his head shot up. There were no humans this far from where they settled, that was why it was called No Man's Land. So that meant the sound was one of three things; a stampede, a herd of bachelors, or most likely another group of horses. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Anika|5 Years & 1 Month Old|Wilbru-Cruce Spanish Barb x Mustang|Mentions: Open| Location - A large hill by a tree in the meadow, somewhat close to the river| Hooves would click lightly on pebbles as the mare made her way into the grassy territory called No Man's Land, her eyes gazing around for any signs of predators, or worse. Humans. The mare had lived in this unclaimed territory for a few years, getting to know every point of its treasury, wondering why such a beautiful place would go unwanted, but many knew that answer. Coming to a hill that overlooked the meadow and the large river beyond it, Anika's dark chocolate gaze would sweep across the land, the wind whipping through her hair and causing shiver's to run through her pelt. A sign that winter was near. The sound of voices would not go unnoticed to the large mare, for she knew very well that other horses would be bound to this land. "I wonder.." Saying the words with a hum to her voice, Anika would make her way down the hill, hooves picking up elegantly as she broke into a swift trot towards the 3 horses. "Hello!" Anika would say with a cheery voice as she slowed down, soon stopping a few feet away from the others. Examining the 3, Anika could tell none of them had a herd, and oddly enough, 2 of them were a bit young. Gaze soon trailing up to the other adult mare, Anika would smile, trying to appear as harmless as a fly "It's actually a surprise to see other horses, I haven't seen any for a while..." The mare would say, tail trying it's hardest to swat at the fly's that would irritate her pelt. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Magus|Stallion|7| Spanish Mustang|Location: |Mentions: open The bay stallion stood placidly, chewing the grass he had in his mouth with a slow precise grinding motion. His black rimmed ears flickered back and forth as he stood, cocoa eyes hidden beneath heavy lids scanned the horizon. The stallion had been quite lonely lately and was searching for company. He wasn't stupid enough to call for worry of attracting unwanted attention, predators, rival stallions, humans even. He didn't need that right now. The chocolate coated lad dragged a hoof along the ground and investigated the trail of torn up grass he left behind. Would minerals be found he'd eagerly lick them up but if none were present air would be forced out of his nostrils, creating a sharp popping sound, to clear the ground of loose debris. After he found enough minerals to satisfy him for the time being his head would be raised, unruly forelock falling over his wide friendly blaze. The thirst had begun to burn the back of his throat but he wasn't quite ready to leave for the water. He stood a while longer, his light bay coat absorbing the sun's warming rays and a shiver of pleasure ran down his spine. Black mug would once more reach down and dark lips reached for grass. Sturdy teeth would make quick work of the grass, then send it down to be digested. This performance was repeated several times before he felt his seeming unending hunger was, for the moment, quashed moderately. A white leg would reach out until it found purchase upon the hard earth followed by a matching hind leg. The slow four beat gait would take the stallion a few strides before his jaunty two beat trot came to show. Followed suite by a fast paced canter as he moved towards the river. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Arabella // 2 years old // przewalski x fell // mentions - open // Location - grassy meadow Despite her strength, she felt oddly weak, her legs felt somewhat jelly-like. She wouldn't show it though. She was smaller than every horse around, she was mildly annoyed by this, it didn't intimidate her much, it was more due to the fact that they may take her height as a sign of weakness. She was actually pretty tall for her breed and age and very strong despite only being a filly. Even though she was naturally a leading, independent pony she understood it was much safer to group. She held back from joining a herd though, because of her age she would most probably be considered weaker and low down in status because of this. She had wondered off into a trail of thought almost forgetting to reply to the mare. "My name is Arabella. I'm here alone because... well it sounds a bit pathetic." She bowed her head down in shame. She had a good cause to leave but saying it out loud did sound a bit childish. "The herd I belonged to were too controlling, some horses need that control to stay in order and to thrive, I understand that. Me, however. It annoys me being bossed about as if I have no conscience or brain to help myself, I can't live like that. I've put myself in danger by leaving but I prefer to live in danger than in sorrow." Arabella had picked up the scents of other horses, she became more alert and aware, it didn't seem like any where approaching but she lifted her head to see how close they were, her mane flicking back as she did. 0 players like this post! Whisper - 5 year old 75% Friesian 25% Appaloosa Mare - Mentions: Arabella, Magnus, Anika, & Chief - Location: River "I do not have a herd." Whisper replied, taking quite an effort to respond now since the stallion had made clear he posed no threat to her or the filly. Licking her lips, she turned to look at the beautiful filly, listening intently as the filly explained her situation. She didn't think it was silly. After all she'd left the life of domestication due to neglect and abuse. Everyone had their own reasons for doing things, and if it meant enough that you left your old life then it had to be important to that horse. She wasn't going to judge anyone for it. Besides, it didn't sound like a nice way to live with someone else because they were too controlling. Then again Whisper had never been in a herd so she had no idea how to survive in that way. She was just about getting by on survival as it was without having to add another dynamic on top of things. Her head turned as she heard another voice. To her surprise she saw another mare, one that appeared fully mature, and Whisper couldn't help but feel a little more at ease with her there. She didn't know why, but if she really had to come up with a reason she could only put it down to female solidarity. "Hello. I think its the time for humans to be about so perhaps other horses are finding places to hide for the rest of the season?" Whisper suggested to her upon the subject of having little contact with other horses. It made sense to her. She'd never been ridden by a human into one of the Hunts where they sought out wild horses but she'd often hear it from her stable-mates that had been ridden. The sound of another set of hooves reached the three quarters Friesian mare, causing her to turn around to find where it was coming from and who it was coming from. To her surprise it was another stallion, this one bay in colour, and Whisper couldn't help but look from this bay stallion to the stallion across from the river. Although it wasn't breeding season Whisper knew it was still common for stallions to fight. For now though they seemed oblivious to the other which might be just as well. She knew it would be polite to greet this stallion but her shy and quiet demeanour got the better of her once more. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Chief| 3 1/2 Years| Kriger Mustang X Caspian Horse| Mentions: Open| Location- Riverside Ears flicked back and forth as the new mare approached. It seemed that this place was not as deserted as he once thought. A snort left his soft black muzzle, causing a fine cloud of mist to rise in front of him. He greeted the new mare with a kind whinny. "I guess I should introduce myself. My name is Chief." After all, they had been speaking for awhile and he had yet to give them his name. Suddenly, the smell of another stallion reached him, his ears went back and nostrils flared. Taking a step back from the shore, Chief readied himself for a fight. There was no guarantee that the other male was aggressive, but the young stallion had had enough experiences with bachelors and lone stallions to know that a scuffle was a possibility. He however, had no desire to do so, and forced himself to relax. Perhaps if he kept his distance and left them alone they would interact peacefully. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Anika|5 Years & 1 Month Old|Wilbru-Cruce Spanish Barb x Mustang|Mentions: Arabella, Whisper, Chief, and Magus| Location - The river| Seeing that everyone was comfortable with each other and were giving their names, it would be polite for the mare to introduce herself as well. "It's nice to meet you all, my name is Anika. " The mare would announce with a slight tilt of her head. Suddenly, she would notice that all the other's horses were beginning to become a bit....uneasy. And the mare didn't like that. Sniffing the air cautiously, Anika would catch a whiff of another stallion, and this one did NOT seem as young as the one she had just met. Unsteadily, the mare would move a bit closer to the others, her cautious instinct's kicking in as she sniffed the air deeply again, trying to figure out where the stallion was coming from. 0 players like this post!
