A New Era of Statters

As clean stat kings become more and more common, a new trend has a begun to circulate: once a clean stat king has many kinged sons and becomes common in the heritage trees of many lions, players start to avoid breeding to him and his kinged sons. Some players have taken to calling these kings "dirty," but it feels wrong to call a clean lion, and especially a low gen lion "dirty." This is even more true because only the Big Four can make a lion's heritage dirty* (note that dirty in this context does not mean inbred). The Big Four were predominately inbred, high stat kings from many, many years ago, from an era long since past - Indra is a surviving member of their heritage. We need a new word for this generation of clean stat kings - dirty is an ugly word with enough controversy surrounding it as is. The word that we at SSS would like to propose is Prolific.

Prolific is not necessarily a negative term. It simply means that a king has had a lot of cubs, far more than the average king, and that he is now very common in the heritage trees of lions all over site. It does not diminish a king's value at all, but for players concerned with avoiding inbreeding, it may be helpful to know who is a prolific king in order for them to be more selective about buying or breeding to lions with them in their heritage. Obviously, this is a subjective term, as everyone will have a different opinion on who is prolific and who is not. However, based on my experience on site and conversing with other players in several discord servers, there are a few names that consistently come up. Prolific kings can include popular retired and active statters such as Ysdaar, Phlegethon, Asterus, Zepfaire, Enigma, Folklore, and others. This list is not exhaustive and may be added to in the future. If you do not consider one of these kings prolific, that's ok! The term is just here to help those who want to avoid popular statters so they do not have to use the incorrect term "dirty."

*Traditionally, dirty has not meant the same thing as inbred, despite dirty and inbred being used interchangeably on site by many players. For clarification, please see the Clean Line Felines clan.
