"LORE"
At the start there were two brothers. One sickly, and one infertile. The sickly, Laven Finder – His name was gained from his love of rolling in a difficult to find invasive plant, Lavender, thus the scent stuck to his pelt – Was mostly immobile. He had lionesses to care for him, and his brother handled the patrols to keep invaders at bay.
The pride number dwindled as the healthy brother -- He was called Kurion, a name passed through the generations – could not reproduce. He knew he had to build the pride’s numbers to prevent invasion, and keep Laven Finder safe. So he left in search of more lions. He collected many cubs, many of which had odd white marks adorning their fur. He loved them dearly, and eventually one of the females produced the perfect cub.
Its fur was dark with red gifted in, like hellfire and its stature was as large as its menacing teeth. Similarly to the sire he’d originated from.
Satisfied, Kurion sent the cub to his brother. As Laven Finder taught the youngling, he earned his name. Laven Lover. He rolled in the same lavender filled meadows as his mentor, loved his stories, and his kind hearted nature grew. Soon, Laven Finder had passed, and the large king took over the pride, gifting it with many red accented cubs, and beautiful large kings and queens to venture off into the world.
Kurion was happy with his contribution, knowing his brother's safety was secured, and so he nurtured his heir, for the little family he’d collected. Apple Fodder was his. The little adolescent eventually shaved her mane off, and Kurion, despite common tradition, continued to train the young female for her position.
At his passing she ruled gracefully, growing the pride beyond what Kurion could’ve imagined in his life. A haven for piebalds, who were just as she was. And so she picked her heir, a golden marked cub, with the same white marks as her. She pressed a pay to the spotted cub's head and informed the little cub of its great responsibility, and titled the little one “Apple Pome”.
As Apple Fodder found her heir, Laven Lover found his. A young cub, sharing the same spotted marks as the chosen heir of their brother pride. This cub adorned great dark and black splotches. The cub's chosen flower was the “Echinops”, otherwise known as globe thistles. He’s known for the well kept grooming of his fur, commonly using the barbish plants to brush out his silky pelt.
Echinops & Apple Pome were more ambitious than their mentors. As their reigns begin, they reconnect the disconnected brother prides.
And so together they opened their prides to oddities of all sorts. The “cotton root bark” herb being used constantly between the two to create many oddly shaped cubs. They greeted lionesses, and offered them a place to stay for a bit, at a price. As they continued with their efforts, Echinops moved the once flowerful pride to a hyena invested zone, hoping to find more desperate lionesses that way.
