Pocus learned to manipulate a strange dark energy near the end of his days. While travelling a squeaking blue opportunity stumbled into his path. The creature was named Whisper when Pocus brought it into his pride. The king began to personally mold the wriggling insect into a respectable heir. Whisper initially struggled and was often sickly after completing challenges imposed by the Patient King Pocus. Their eyes began to lose the bright color that once greeted the world first. Soon after the eyes the cub's small mouth cracked into a jagged, hungry void. Often the little cub would wander the pride with a limp or a slight wobble and Pocus would brush off the concerns his pride would bring to him or the Council. You greet Whispered One and he just smirks at you, licking some blood from his latest kill off his paw.
