DAUGHTER OF IMARA TO ACHILIA Uhuru was much quieter than her sister, a trait which her father favoured. He loved his daughters both equally, of course, but Uhuru was truly his progeny. She followed him around wherever and whenever she could, always asking questions about laws and rules, but constantly mindful of her place. When her father died, Uhuru was immediately suspicious of Sikia, but kept her concerns to herself. Being the eldest male, and the most equipped, he was immediately elevated to King, stripping her of her rank. 'Out of respect' he asked her mother Imara, an old friend of his, to take Uhuru's paw in marriage. He admitted he wasn't well educated to run a Kingdom and he knew Uhuru was a fine example of one of Achilia's trained cubs. He also added it would show respect to the spirit of the passed King to elevate one of his daughters to Queen, thus continuing his lineage. But really, it merely added insult to injury. Eventually, the truth came out, and Uhuru, now grown into a strong leader, rallied her lionesses to attack and execute Sikia. Uhuru means 'freedom' in Swahili.
