1st Lady Kayla

Queen Kayla joined King Firent when the pride was still very small. Though Custard is his most loyal lioness, Kayla is the one the pride looks up to. If a stray cub is adopted by the pride they often stay with Kayla until a lioness in the pride becomes attached and wants to look after it. The respect given to her by the pride means that she resides within what is considered the best den in the territory. Her caring side was shown from an early point. When she was still an adolescent she adopted a young aardwolf that was lost in the territory. At three years old a fennec fox wandered into her cave. Instead of chasing it off she gave it shelter and continues to guard it. Shortly after, the fennec fox brought back a pale fox cub, who is a playmate for any young cubs that stay with Kayla.
Kayla is a wonderful mother. Her first cub, Reagel, was sired by Sirius IV. She stayed with the pride and grew into a fine adult. Kayla's second litter were twin female and male, Dalia and Monty. This pair grew up with Reagel's young, spending their days playing as a family under the watchful eye of their mother/grandmother.
Though by the time Firent passed on and the throne was taken by King Nebulous her cubs had all left the pride, Queen Kayla is still content in her position. She continues to watch over families of smaller animal species that take refuge in her cave, and is sometimes visited by the King as he makes his efforts to know the hunters.
As soon as Queeni's young cub Senji was old enough, he wandered the cave systems, playing there alone. Kayla made sure to keep an eye on him, out of sight.
At ten and a half years old Kayla retired from the hunting party, passing it down to the younger lionesses.
After her death Nebulous visited the shamans of a neighbouring pride and Kayla whispered guidance to him.
