Much like Lux, Taja was sent to Enzi to build bridges. Only Enzi didn't approve of her family but he took her anyway. He wanted to take her away from her cruel father and absent mother. Taja was relieved that he had done so and viewed him as her savior. Like Lux, Sabra and Kira, her fertility wasn't great and her mother had never bothered to teach her how to hunt, so Taja was assigned the role of cub sitter. At first the maroon tinged lioness was worried that she would become like her father, but she soon learned that she was nothing like him.
