Young Akela had been favored by the king since being sent to the pride by her fathers brother. She hadn't expeced to become queen. She almost cried when the king came to her late at night and asked her to be his queen, bring her a bird friend as a gift.
Turns out the queens bird friend who has been named flight, is more important then just a gift from the king. The queen was out hunting and away from the group other then her bird on her shoulder, she saw prey and took off after it. What she didn't see was the sharp drop off 20 yards behind her prey and 10 yards in front of her and getting closer fast, at the very last moment she saw the drop off and clung to the edge with her claws. Flight began flying between her and the rest of the hunting party until Allie one of the older lioness realised and followed the bird, getting there in time to see the queens paws slipping, Allie with help from Flight pulled up the young queen and moved on
Akela and Eva became pregnant on the very same day with both their first litters, the beautiful queen is excited to not be the only first time mother in the pride and to share her pregnancy and birth with her bestfriend.
The queen seemed to be taking the kings death a bit harder then the rest of the pride but she kept it to hersel and princess Eva. She missed him.. and hated the fact there was no body to burry. It broke her heart.
The queen felt the pressure between the new king, the old kings son, and his mate, the pride may not survive this challenge.
The beautiful queen hunting with the others one day came across a young cub, being near her own heat herself she couldn't leave the abandoned young cub alone, so she named her FireHeart and brought her home.
The queen knew the princes plan and tipped the king off, though she didn't except what she saw when the king returned, she and the other lionesses nursed him, but ignored the prince and his wounds, as if every lioness and cub in the pride knew the prince was no longer the prince nor was he welcome.
