Archaos was beyond delighted when he saw the little cub curled beside Elsweyr. There were three in total, but this one was special-she looked just like her mother, besides her eyes, which came from the King.

She was almost an exact replica of Archaos's favorite lionesses and his heart swelled with love-a rare thing to see in the mighty king. He called the young one "Princess Ashriah," and declared that she would be the queen to rule beside his heir when he and her mother passed on.

The death of her mother eventually came, and her passing was devastating to the pride. The king himself lost a notch of his stern, regal demeanor in the face of his own coming death, seeming to want to join Elsweyr in the afterlife sooner rather than later. Ashriah mourned the passing of her mother with the rest of the pride, with little time in between before she was mourning the passing of King Archaos as well.

When Trenzalore took the throne, one of his first acts was to make her his queen, as were his predecessor's wishes. But Ashriah was several years older than he, and he realized that he would have to choose her heir sooner than he had wanted.
