Shenzi

Shenzi was not born with red in her coat - that was acquired and it has left her on the edge of society ever since. Even her sister and mother are wary around her since she gained the red markings. The older lionesses whisper that she was touched by the demons, though Shenzi will speak little on the subject. The one lioness who seems to take any interest in her, or perhaps that only one that pities her, is Aspice; the one that brought a newly tinted and unconscious Shenzi back to the pride. Many believe that she knows what happened to the younger lioness, but both refuse to comment on the subject.

Shenzi seems to care very little that she is regarded with such wariness. In fact, she is remarkably flippant towards most subjects and decidedly unperturbed by Eres, going so far as to flick her tail in his face on a regular basis is h says something she disagrees with. However, she is by no means stupid. She knows that Eres will not let her stay around if she poses a threat to the others, and she's well aware of Salem's dislike and mistrust towards her and how important the sand cat's opinion is with regards to Eres and decisions. So, she has taken it upon herself to learn the shaman craft whilst they linger in the area. She regularly wanders off to seek their instruction, much to the discomfort of some of the other pride members.

She came back one day adorned in furs and feathers and claiming that she was a fully fledged shaman. What was more concerning was the hyena cub she'd brought back in tow, who she introduced as Bali. Bali was apparently her assistant and an orphan, and being only just able to survive on her own easily influenced to the ways of a lion and a potential infiltrator in the future. Eres was furious, but unable to contest Shenzi when the pride was so in need of a shaman as an ally, not a enemy. Bali wisely stayed right beside or under Shenzi at all times, and Eres has since been unable to remove her.
