~ latin, branch
One of many cubs born from Ancient Wisdom, the male cub remained unnamed for the majority of his young life. Even after his sister was named and they were both weaned, he was just 'cub'. Fortunately, he was bright enough to know that eventually he would get a name.
At five months, barely weaned and already he was spoken for, which was quite unusual for male cubs. This made Lord Thunderpaw happy, especially at the enthusiasm of the young King Rēgius upon seeing the young cub.
A surprised, yet pleasant look on the king's features, he said: "Your kindness is greatly appreciated. All those in these lands have been kind."
"The little one is yours, good king." Snowblossom said.
"Now I can finally have a good subordinate male within my pride. I cannot wait for him to grow up. He will fit in nicely."
Lord Thunderpaw rumbled and tossed his mane with approval. "It is good to hear. Thank you for giving him a home."
Unable to allow him to leave without a name, Snowblossom was quick to give the little male a temporary one prior to Prince Whitewash escorting King and cub back to the king's lands.
Pondering for a moment on the way back, Rēgius finally murmured: "Rāmus." Addressing the name again, this time with more certainty, he looked at the cub. "Rāmus ... 'branch'. It suits you, little one."
____________________
The first male to join Rēgius' pride. After settling in to his new home at a young age, it was clear that Rāmus was a clever one, often tricking others slightly to get some extra bits of juicy meat, or attention whenever he wanted it.
Since growing to his final measurements, Rāmus has been an invaluable asset to his king. Loyal like no other, always obeying each of Rēgius' commands to the best of his capability. This is has not gone unnoted by the king either, as he is highly rewarded for tasks accomplished.
