Pyra's first pride had been on the brink of starvation. It had been large, with several lionesses and cubs, but there hadn't been enough territory to feed the entire pride. She, and her friends Willow and Rose, left the pride to find a place that was more suitable. They happened to stubble upon Adil. He told them of his pride, how it was still small with plenty of territory to feed them. They eagerly joined the new pride. Pyra was able to provide Adil with two male offspring, both of which she cared for deeply. However, when she wasn't raising her sons, she took to the plains to hunt. She enjoyed hunting, and she always felt secure knowing the pride had extra meat on hand and wouldn't starve. Though she was upset that neither of her sons would become heirs, she understood Adil's reasoning. She even believed Adil might change his mind if she can turn their attitudes around. Between hunts, she spends time with her sons and shows compassion to them, but they continue straying farther and farther.
