RP: Scar was born to an established pride in the Western lands led by the dark King, Growltiger. Unfortunately, his mother, Claire, was not one of Growltiger's favorite lionesses even with her strength and experience. Male birth rate was low. The only other Scar really got to be involved with was Victor, his older half brother by two years. Victor was the son of Bombalurina, and was made temporary heir should the need arise. Scar was determined to be faster, stronger, smarter. He could never quite keep up with Victor. Victor was patient and used his cunning to teach his little brother but that would not stop Scar's mouth. He and Growltiger fought almost daily about anything and everything. It usually ended up with Scar storming off or with a new addition of, well, scars on his flanks. Scar was cocky, mischievous, and even malicious at times. It smashed against his father's own dark personality. He did not play well with others, and he was not one to wait for the delay of reward. On one of his many patrols, Scar eventually met his cousin Grendel of the Eastern lands. He was son to "Underacheiver", Growltiger's brother. Grendel was not give heir either even though he was promised such. One day a lone primal adolescent named Greymane showed up during one of Scar and Grendel's border chats. Instead of chasing him off the East or West, the three became close friends like 'brothers'. Greymane finally convinced them to form a coalition in retaliation against Growltiger and Underachiever. Grendel went South and with the help of his 'brothers' won the challenge for King. Greymane, waiting to grow, played nice in the North under King Kriel. Scar originally wanted the Northern King's role but Greymane's silver tongue danced the thought out of his mind. Scar ranked Second-in-Command which is what he was content to do. His opinion was used and mattered. The horrible part of this scene was all the new Northern lions waited until the day that the adolescent Greymane would make his move and kill the King without the aid of his 'brothers'. Even the females would play and hunt to avoid being impregnated by Kriel. Scar watched with the grin of success as he lingered over them all. Scar was above the process or so he thought he was. He had made the right move, and perhaps one day he would even face either his brother Victor or Growltiger, himself. No alliance. Defiance. (WIP)
