Mother keeps calling me 'daddy's little girl,' which, well...I am! Ever since I was born I've had a special connection to him. I don't really know how to describe it. He's always here, both when I need him and when I don't. I guess it all started once I learned how to walk...
Mother left for a bit to go hunting with the pride, which left me to be watched by Avaro, the only male besides the King. He had agreed to watch me while she was gone because how hard could it be to keep an eye on a baby cub, right? Well, I had different plans than sitting here all day waiting for mother to get back. I was playing with Avaro's tail, biting it actually, when I saw Kuri take off on her morning patrol in the sky. Curious as to where she goes and what she sees, I drop Avaro's tail and sprint after her - well, I sprint as fast as my little cub legs will let me go. As I make my way into the forest, I stumble over some branches. Scurrying to get up quickly, Kuri's shadow disappears from my sight. 'No worries, I'll just turn around and head home'. I shake myself off and turn to head back. 'Oh no!' I must have gone too far in and gotten lost. Looking around, everything seems the same! I hear something rustle to my right. I lower my head and slowly begin to walk backwards, trying to hide in the trees' shadows.
"Heart! Heart! Heart, where are you?!"
'The King!' I jump back out from the shadows and run towards his voice. As I turn the corner I run right into him and land on my butt. I clearly misjudged how far he was. "Hello!" I say casually.
Shocked by my demeanor, Koen just stands there looking at me. "Hi." He walks over to me and nudges me up to my feet. "I think we better hurry home before your mother returns, what do you think?" He nudges me forward.
"Ca-can we keep this just between us" I quietly mutter as we walk back.
Koen looks down to me. "I don't see why not. I'll just have a little chat with Avaro when we get back, make sure he doesn't say anything."
Leaning into him as we walk, I look up and smile. "Thanks!"
Yup, that's when I became 'daddy's little girl'.
