The First Mutation
Blind and feeble StarKit was taken into the pride as the first mutation. She was lavished with love and care the moment she arrived at her new home. GreyKing, seeing her potential carried her to MoonRock deep within the prides land. The spirits of the ancestors came to her, King Noh' the original leader bestowed upon her small blind form a beautiful coat of shaded onyx, glittered with golden orange.
Starpaw was the name bestowed upon her at her first year of age. GreyKing had passed, however the heir to the pride was a dual tailed wonder, said to be sent by the great lion god Apedemak and his twin tails were the sign of change. Erasimos raised Starpaw until she grew to be an adult. Taken to the MoonRock she was blessed with eternal youth, never to die and sent to guide the spirit of the Waterhole Pride.
Years passed and StarSight felt the passing of many of the pride around her, new lions were always born and old lions were always dying. Yet here she remained. Erasimos, Son of Angels had passed, unable to endure the changing seasons one year, he disappeared during the floods and was never seen again.
That year the pride had changed forever. A newcomer, a burning starry pelted lion came, though soft spoken held a deep evil inside him. Many of the lionesses were sold, beloved cubs and old brown lionesses were sent away to the neighboring lands. So he said had happened. StarSight knew their life-forces had vanished but kept the words to herself. New lions came, ones with grey pelts similar to the new kings were brought instead. The years wore on, Heretics blade aged and grew weak.
A cub however was born, much different than all others. One with ancient genes and pure heritage. Heretic took the young cub away with him to the MoonRock, old bones nearly failing as he carried the cub, tired from the long adventure. StarSight had followed, she may as well have been a mute for she never spoke unless she was giving obscure warning of great dangers.
Heretic returned, without the cub. Youth had been bestowed upon him by Apedemak, the great Lion God. His fangs had grown long and his tail shorn, body larger, eyes wild with life. To the rest of the pride, they had not worried for the cub had probably been sold. However StarSight could see the horrors that had happened deep underground at MoonRock.
Heretic had reformed, the mind half his and half the cub he had stolen the youth of. A fitting fate for the celestial hungry lion. Heretic came to StarSight and gifted her the spots of royalty: The King Cheetah's mark. Though unwavered by the kings kindness, gifts would not sway her heart nor mind. She did begin to see good returning to the leader of the pride. The two had ventured to the MoonRock, where she had been given such luxurious spot markings and returned with new wise words from the ancestors.
As Heretics second coming of youth wanes he declares an heir. This color rich cub is brought into their midst. He grows well and fat, doted upon heavily by the aging king. The pride continues to change, however The Oracle sees the pride settling once more. Though troubled times had come and gone, peace had settled in at last. The new lion, named Heretic after the king. Unbeknowsnt to her all seeing eyes, Heretic passes down his secret of youth to the adolecent lion heir to the throne. Times may have settled, things may have changed for a more morbid turn of events.
