Maziwa

Meaning "Milk." From birth, something was different about Maziwa from the other cubs---not only was she completely white, she had no color on her nose, eyes, muzzle, or pawpads. She was albino, a rare mutation that her pride worshipped as a sign from the gods. They treated her with caution and care, not wanting to hurt her and therefore upset their gods. She was a gift to them. However, to Maziwa, she was confused on how her "deformity" could give her so much respect. As a result of all the coddling and worshiping, she grew more distant from her pride and anti social. One day, walking the boundary, she was knocked out cold and woke up in a different area, far away from her home pride. It turns out Kushinda kidnapped her for his benefits---a rare albino could benefit him and his possible heirs. As soon as Maziwa found out what she got into, she panicked and tried to flee, but quickly realized it would do her no good at every beating and punishment. She bonded with the broodmother of the pride, Raza, as she had a mutation too--longer, silkier hair than that of other lionesses. Together they became the top huntresses of the pride.
