Queen Mala

Mala was born during the last few years of her parent's reign since her mother was older Mala was the only cub in the litter. She wasn't a only cub though she has 3 older sisters and a older brother. For the first couple months of her life she was to be sold to another king some day. But as her father got older and the heir he had chosen proved himself unworthy of the throne in strength and personality he searched far and wide for a new heir to take his place, and found one in a far away pride. The male had all the physical appearance requirements and the experience, while this lion whos name was Dusk was several years older than herself her father picked her to be the heir's queen. She was still a teen when this happened and was confused. For all her life she was considered not even of royal blood(much to her mother's disappointment) and now she was to be queen. She didn't understand why of all her father's daughters she was the one to rule. Her older sister Noel was going to be the previous heir king so why she didn't keep her role as queen heir was confusing. When she asked her father he told her that she was the only one of his daughters that everyone actually knew was his daughter and he wanted his family to be remembered. It was at this time that she attainted her title as princess and future queen and she got a real name. It was hard for the cubs her father decided to give away, they had no claim to any throne they had no real names and they were not permitted to hunt or breed since other kings preferred a lioness to come ready to have cubs than one who would wait until her cubs were grown.
Months and years passed by as her parents grew older, one day her mother pulled them all aside to speak with them she said she knew she did not have much time left before she joined their ancestors. They all cried and even her father who was very reserved from them all clung to his queen like a cub. It was a few years later that her mother died in the early morning hours with them all around her. Her father was very distant then and refused to take another queen though he did spend much time with two lionesses that were close friends and mother's of his cubs that were not considered royal. 3 years past and her father showed signs of his age, he wasn't as strong as he once was and his fur had taken on a more grayish turn. During his last year he spent vigorously training the new heir and changing her appearance with strange drinks and taking her to shamans who came once a year. It wasn't long until he decided to give up his throne, before he did he made sure everyone was there and took one last lioness who was in heat to make sure his line would continue in case something were to happen to her. After that he pronounced the new Heir as king and changed the lion's name to Khallfani then walked off to where they buried his queen to die.
Khallfani didn't immediately pick her as queen as was to be done, he first went around and spoke with all the lionesses in the pride and spent a extra long time with the one's who were in their heat even though his first cubs were to be with her. This angered her older siblings and they forced him to announce to the pride that Mala was his queen and only her cubs would be considered royal since that was custom and other wise they would usurp him.
He begrudgingly accepted this and soon proven himself a good king. The pride is thriving and while sometimes there will be a shortage of food no one has left. He spends a lot of time with the pride making sure everyone is happy and even plays(trains) the cubs. Mala is glad to be his queen and he treats her very well after every cub she has had he seems even more happy to be around her. She has had seven cubs and she loves all of her beautiful children. Though her two sons don't have a chance to be king. She understands this since her mate has found a male cub that is very strong and will likely be her youngest daughter's king since she is most likely to take the throne from her family unless she has anymore daughters after her.
