The ferocious woodland fires drove out a young cub from her pride, she was scared and confused as she fled. THUMP! She had just ran into a rather large male lion! She backed up slowly trying to make a run for it, but the male stopped her by stepping on her tail. "Where are you going little one? Where is your mom?" He asked in a gentle voice. The cub stopped trying to get away and stared at the ground sadly, "S-She was in the f-f-fire..." the cub was in tears. With that the king nuzzled her softly, "You are safe now, come with me to my pride we will take care of you. My name is Daehyun, my pride isn't too far from here." The cub nodded and sadly followed the big lion to his pride, only to find other cubs that were playing and very excited to have a new playmate. She began to play with them, and slowly grew used to her new pride. Her favorite past time began hiding and creeping in the darkness of the marshlands and sneaking up on the other pride members.
As an adolescent Hidden in the Darkness, also known as Darkness, grew to scaring other animals. She began to teach herself how to hunt pouncing on rabbits, squirrels, donkey foals and other small animals. She grew to be best friends to with the princess Short Stuff whom also liked hunt. They would often go on crazy adventures within unclaimed territories. However, one time they found themselves within a forest fire. The fire brought back painful memories and she began to panic. Short Stuff was also scared and didn't know what to do, she had backed herself against a tree that was not yet on fire. The two of them let out panic growls and roars at the fire. Suddenly, Short Stuff's father Daehyun appeared. He had found them and lead them the way he came in, a small opening within the fire. That's when Darkness learned not to go out into the forests during drought season.
As foreseen, she became a strong and might hunter for the pride. She loved the hunt, and the adventure along the way. However through the years the fires didn't stop, in fact they only got worse. But what's even worse is that there were poachers now too. It was terrible, traps would be set around and some animals got stuck in them during the fires. That is exactly what happened to a small cub by the name of Forever With You. She was small and dark in color so she ended up being looked over by the panicking lions rushing out of the fire. Still, Darkness had heard her cries and ran into the fire, She remembered how she had been left, and wasn't going to let that happen to the poor trapped cub. She had untangled the poor cub from the net trap and carried her out by the scruff. Rushing through the fires and avoiding being burnt. The cub stayed by her side and afterwards so she brought the cub to King Daehyun. That was the very day that Darkness had overcome her fear of the fires. From that day on Darkness had traveled near the fires on her way to various hunting spots. She had been filled with confidence, and the fires could no longer stop her from being strong. Even though she had always been hidden in the darkness. it was finally her time to shine.
She shivered as the harsh cold had taken over the land. She didn't understand how such strong heat and fire could disappear into an ice age. Her cubs were grown, yet they still seemed to come to their mom for warmth. Baby Reaper had taken a liking to staying closer as well, just because he couldn't find the usual animals to play with or attack. That and he wanted to protect his little sister. Since Fire had been in the poaching incident she was less confident, and so she too stayed near her mother for warmth and protection. The new king had taken over soon after the cold had hit the pride, his name was Blizzard Reaper, and he wanted Darkness to take over as queen. She had accepted after his many gifts and charming talks. And once again it could be said that she was away from her dark past. It didn't haunt her as she took bold steps forward to help protect and feed the pride.
