Known by all for her kindness; Dolorosa, Rosa for short, is the head of the Broodmothers of the Dark Gemini pride; her name means 'The Motherly', and her title also reflects it. She cares for the young and the old; in times of infirmity, Rosa is there at a lion's side. When a lioness is giving birth, Rosa is there to help her care for the cubs as they are born; to pull them aside and clean them while their mother works on delivering the other cubs. Rosa keeps company with a leopard who came upon the pride in hard times; he is called The Sufferer, for he would not give the pride his true name, and speaks only to Dolorosa in whispers. She keeps his secrets locked away, she watches over him. He will not hunt for himself; he wishes to seek a path away from the life of hunting; Rosa brings him food to eat in the form of what is taken from carcasses scavenged in the King's walks, and even then, he makes sure the cubs she cares for eat first.
