Lady Starshadow

Starlight and Starshadow came into the world as little more than mewling, rambunctious cubs - but even at a young age, the others sensed they were different. Hidden away from the vicious king Burning Sky, they were raised together in secrecy. When a second winter rolled around and saw each sister growing a short mane in addition to their commanding, powerful personalities, a seed of hope was planted. The cynical Starshadow and her warmhearted sister Starlight were like yin and yang, night and day - but inseperable as they always where, they formed a formidable pair of highly skilled warriors.

Starshadow was not as believing in the inherent goodness of others - while she generally deferred to her sister over matters of handling them, she was always there making it quite clear that when the trouble she always expected would arise... She would meet it with all of her fury. For Starshadow, respect was never demanded. But she found it nonetheless in the power of her teeth and claws, her uncanny ability to see into the hearts of others and judge their character.

Starshadow plotted against the tyrant king for quite some time, unbeknownst even to her beloved sister. One night, she ambushed him as he patrolled the territory, and nearly struck him down then and there. The battle was long and bloody. Starshadow was skilled and strong, but... The Burning Sky was stronger, his aptitude for killing strengthened over decades of brutality. She refused to wait for the deathblow to come - she had to destroy this monster, before he hurt her sister!
As if summoned by her desperation, Burning Sky found himself with a new set of teeth at his neck. Tariku tore him away from the fallen lioness, and then the world.

The Caldera pride lived a life of relative peace and bliss for many years under the leadership of the sisters and Tariku. Starshadow found herself softening around the edges a little as she grew older - spending her twilight years a watchful guardian of the pride's future. Her only son Allaidh grows stronger and more striking with each passing day, and she wishes she could live to see the day he becomes king.
