Lady Starlight

You ran up and greeted Lady Starlight happily. Oops, you also knocked her over with your gleeful shoulder-nudge. Ah well, she just fell over giggling and flailing.

Starlight and Starshadow came into the world as little more than mewling, rambunctious cubs - but even at a young age, the others sensed they were different. Hidden away from the vicious king Burning Sky, they were raised together in secrecy. When a second winter rolled around and saw each sister growing a short mane in addition to their commanding, powerful personalities, a seed of hope was planted. The cynical Starshadow and her warmhearted sister Starlight were like yin and yang, night and day - but inseparable as they always where, they formed a formidable pair of highly skilled warriors.

Starlight was ever the softer of the two, a gentle and nurturing contrast to her frequently aggressive and bitter sister. She became a favorite amoungst the other lions quickly - a protector, guiding with a gentle paw for the most part. But when push came to shove, she would strike with a powerful, precise might that left any would be opponents shocked.

When Tariku deposed Burning Sky as the lord of the territory one night, Starlight expected trouble and went looking for her sister... Starlight found her collapsed at the paws of a bloodied Tariku and in a rare fit of rage, threw herself at the male - who simply allowed the blow to land, and stepped aside to reveal the broken body of the old king with her sister's fur still caught in his claws and teeth.
In a gesture of goodwill and recognizing a powerful ally, the new ruler instead instated the pair as Royal Guards, and allowed them much autonomy. Starlight was to be a second in command, a role she took to like a duck to water. Starshadow became the chief huntress and commander of the warriors.
