The life of a rogue lioness is a harsh one, and she was constantly defending herself from territorial lions and poaching prey. She wandered around the central region until her second year, when she strayed too close to the northern border and ran into a patrolling submale. He introduced himself as Savo, and intrigued by her appearance, he invited her to meet with his pride. She refused, but the two continued to meet at the border to talk. Eventually curiosity and hunger got the best of her and she agreed to go with him. After gaining Kirrin's approval, she was welcomed into the pride, earning her keep as a huntress. Bastet has a strong disdain for Makolo, and she doesn't try to keep it a secret. In her eyes Savo is the rightful one to rule, and he had the throne wrongfully stolen from him. His loss did little to curb her resentment.
