Upon her birth, Nyekundu immediately takes a liking to the king's daughter. Whether it's because of her being albino, or due to her pelt being a similar grey as his late best friend, the pride guard Zambarau, we'll never know. The pride doesnt question it, as his usual self-absorbed self becomes a little more endearing. In honour of his deceased friend, he requests to name her Walinzi (meaning guard) and asks to train her to be the next pride guard when she gets old enough, as the pride currently lacks one after Zambarau's death. Vazi accepts the request because whythefucknot, and even though Kinyesi is her father, Nyekundu becomes sort of a second dad or like a crazy uncle. Her training starts when she is an adolescent.
