Camille was chased away from her old pride due to her low fertility rate. Her past king grew tired of her failure to give him cubs, and as she began to age, he felt she was turning into just another mouth to feed and sent her into exile, leaving her to fend for herself. One night, cold and shivering from the rain, she accidentally stumbled onto Jua's territory. She was not pleased to see the sun-maned male, as she was now wary of them due to her past. Jua did not wish to leave the lioness alone like this, and so decided to try and court her, and convince her to join his pride. After much convincing, Camille agreed, and was taken in. Kuruka quickly took Camille under her wing, and decided to train her to become a great huntress, even if she was younger than she. Even if Camille could not bare Jua any cubs, she was determined to prove herself useful as a huntress. Jua loves her regardless.
