BC: Berraya Lestunasho

You see Berraya Lestunasho strutting around, chest held high. As you walk up, she tells you that this pride is the greatest pride in the lands! Well now, damn straight!
Berraya Lestunasho seemed to be trying to get your attention. As you approached, you see that she had lined up several meerkat carcasses neatly on the ground. She smiles and awaits your praise.

The daughter of Catherine the spotted, the grand-daughter of an outcast leopard-lion hybrid, Lestanasho is acutely aware of what it feels like to be both prized and hated for something as petty as looks or ancestry. Lesta grew up listening to tales from her mother and Nanny, Mayastia, of how the prides of old used to be, and how hated hybrids were to be killed at birth and the mother exiled to die alone, or ripped apart by angered pridemates. Thus, she knows that kings and communities are fickle, and that nothing is for certain, giving her the wisdom necessary to earn the rank of Berraya from Queen Paramour Coal the Immortal.

Lestanasho hopes to show her close friends Caelectress and Mowwa, both pride-born, that outsiders are not a threat to be feared, or an enemy to be killed, and that new blood is good for the sake of the pride and relations oft mean nothing in the face of a lion's deeds. This is especially true of Galaxy van Tale, the old monarch who had the gentlest upbringing of any male, yet turned out to be the most evil king in all the lands for some years, second only to Caelectress's own cannibalistic father. Lesta is relentlessly hopeful that attitudes to outsiders will change for the positive under her influence, and hopes that she earns the favour of the King-Killer with her training, to live a long and fruitful life.
