((King Anang and Sub-Queen Mao's female cub should grow up into a sub-queen or queen, but her stats are pretty low... look into ways to bump them up?))
Born out of a furtive, shy encounter with Anang after his own beloved Sub-Queen Mother Bakoba passed away, This little girl was her Mother's joy all the same... with her own age progressing, and Anang in his last years, if not months... this tiny yowling cublet was a sign of hope, that all was not yet lost for the Pride here... perhaps she would rise to be a queen or sub-queen herself, one day... even if she was a little small, a little needy, and a little loud if she wasn't cuddled close....
...not that anyone in the Pride blamed her- only a young cub of 11 months old when her Mother passed away during a hunt. Was there anything so unhappy as having an Elderly Sub-Queen mother who just... didn't come home? Oh, the pride lays carcasses of their loved ones in a special place, to decay back into the land... but still. The hunt seems scary for the young cub, and her training has not gone as well as the new king, Khavi, has hoped. He spends /extra/ time grooming the cub, playing with her gently and light-heartedly... see? the world isn't SO bad, even if bad things DO happen!
Poor Duchess Girri.. she never did become a strong huntress or a powerful lioness. Her line... once that of proud Sub-Queens, ended in THIS pride with her- although she had daughters who struck out to other prides and did well... it is a sad footnote when she herself passed away quietly, just after the King of her Pride, Khavi, had passed as well. Possibly, she just couldn't take the idea of a NEW King... everything would be upheaval and shuffling, and... better to lie down in the sun, and go home to the stars.
