Her heart racing, the young cub raced through the undergrowth. "Mama?" she cried out into the darkness. No reply. She let out a pitiful little roar and curled up under a dried bush.
It seemed she only was asleep a few moments before she could hear other lions and feel hot breath on her fur. "Of course we're taking her in, Fading Sunsets, we can't just leave a cub to die!" a lioness snapped. "Fine, fine," an older male huffed, most likely Fading Sunsets. She felt her scruff being picked up and looked around at the lionesses. "Now, now, little one, you're safe now. You're with us." an old lioness nuzzled her cheek and began to walk alongside the group.
As the young lioness walked through the pride with confidence, older lionesses and even a few cubs perked their ears towards her. Rumors of her being Queen Orisa's successor had spread through the pride like wildfire. Fading Sunsets refused to comment, and the same went for Volitria herself.
She pushed her way through the giant leaves and entered the meeting den. "You called for me?" she blinked, her tail swaying. "Yes, we did. We must discuss important matters." Queen Orisa cleared her throat before being interrupted by Volitria. "Where's the king?" "Er, well, he said he was getting too old to make important decisions for the pride anymore. Fading Sunsets has almost completely taken his place!" she muttered. "Yes, yes, now we must discuss this." Fading Sunsets growled. "Queen Orisa is getting old. She won't be here forever," Fading Sunsets began, "therefore we have selected a successor- you, Volitria." "Me?!" Volitria gasped. "T-this is such an honor! Of course I'll be her successor!" she grinned.
And from that day on, the confident stride of Princess Volitria never faltered.

Princess Volitria hung her head low as Fading Sunsets approached her. He flicked his tail under her chin. "Come now, Volitria. It's time for the Crowning Ceremony. I know you are still grieving for Queen Orisa, but she would want you to help advise me while I lead the pride. This is a huge honor..." he paused, "Unless, of course, you are unwilling to take this position?" the large male stared down at her. Volitria scrambled to her paws. "Of course I am. I will not let myself be seen as a coward!" she growled. Fading Sunsets lashed his tail. "Alright, then."

Ugh, sometimes getting tangles out of your mane is such a hassle! Luckily, Princess Volitria offers to help. She is magical at mane-detangling, and you are grateful for her aid.
You want to tell a pride mate that they need to correct their behavior, but you couldn't find the words and you felt bad. So, you approach Princess Volitria and ask her to do it for you. She laughs at your ineptitude, but agrees. You can trust her to say what needs to be said.
You settle down to munch a nice, fat, gerbil. Or....not. Princess Volitria nyoomed over, grabbed it, and nyoomed away. Awwww...
As you walk up to her, Princess Volitria stares at you intently. She awaits a greeting, and does not return one until you have given exactly 6 nuzzles and a lick to ply her with..
You go up to take a nap with Princess Volitria. She jokes that if you start snoring, you may find some maggots in your nose. You lie awake next to her and wonder if she really meant that.
On a morning stroll, you and Princess Volitria notice a bird nest, full of baby birds. She asks if she's the best chick around, and you better not say no.
Princess Volitria waves her tail in greeting as you near her, but seems too absorbed in trying to coax a lizard from its burrow to pay attention to you afterwards. She's probably been at this for a while.
Princess Volitria is lying in your favorite sunny spot, fast asleep. You tried to nudge her off. Nope. A nip? Nope. You bodily flop on her. Nope, she is STILL not moving! Dang. It's time for her Crowning Ceremony... she's the new queen... welp, only one option. You ram into her side at full force. She wakes up with a start, realizing how important this day is.
You find (Former) Queen Volitria practicing a hunting pounce that she was bad at. You tell her she COULD take a break, but no...she won't stop until she gets it just right!
