A note from Mama:
Dear Sam and Rose,
Stay safe, wherever you go. If you go to M'ai's pride, become his friend, since I can't. When you're older, visit me by the White River. Please, don't forget me. I love you both. Be careful.
Rose, make sure the boys know who's in charge. Show them you aren't afraid, and stand up for what's right, though I was unable to.
My Travel Log :
My journey began when I was 4yrs and 2months. I set off apart from my brother, Sam. I've heard of traveling lionesses before, the idea alone really appealed to the two of us. Though he's not a lioness. I plan to return home when I grow old, I'll share my stories of my travels with the cubs of my home pride. My home...hm..

The First Pride:
While setting off I seemed to get turned around at some point during the night. Perhaps proficiency in navigation is something that comes with well-lived experience and not just dedication and hope... I was lucky enough to be found just as the harsh Summer Sun was rising once more by a rather peculiar Lioness, a Primal from what I heard growing up. She was donned in a skull and heavy jewelry, but appearances aside she seemed rather welcoming and encouraged me to follow her back to 'The Foreden' before the sun rose high. I neither wanted to burn my paws on the desert sands nor turn down the opportunity for adventure, so I was quick to agree and the two of us set off.
I was surprised to find that the Den itself was almost entirely hidden by the slanting of the rocks and the dunes of sand around it. At its front were well-chewed and peculiarly stacked Bones I was told were a ritualistic rite of passage from 'Aia'Umkhulu', an elderly Lioness who had passed only the day before I arrived of old age.
I was lead down into the cool depths of the deep Den, fear itching at my spine, until we entered the Main Den area and I saw the warm faces of a multitude of far less intimidating Lions, Cubs, and Kings. I even met another Travelling Lioness who shares my same name! It must be something in our make up, us Roses.
I've been offered to accompany the 'Royalty' of the Huntresses here to learn how to hunt in the arid desert. It's exciting! 'Aia'Ingoma' has even given me a couple of mementos to remember my time here by (and to save my paws from burning bare against the sun-heated sands). I'll have to be sure to keep them safe until I get home.
------
I've stayed longer than I should have, if only because of my Daughter. The Anointed's King graced me with a beautiful Cub and I've been hesitant to leave her. In my stead, Aia'Ingoma has told me that she will take on my firstborn as her own, which both warms my heart and brings a kind of heavy sadness that I can't quite describe. Tonight will be my final night here, I've decided. There is too much world and too little time to stay here beneath the shifting sands.
My time with The Anointed will be fondly remembered but like the travelling Lionesses before me that have ebbed and flowed into and out of this Den, so too must I take my leave of this strange and surreal place. I only hope one day I'll be able to return and see my Daughter, named 'Isityalo' by Ingomia and granted the 'Ta' of the Huntresses, when she is all grown.
Will she remember me? Perhaps it's not something I should worry about tonight...
