Saya is multitalented. She is a very kind lioness that has a great work ethic and treats everyone with equal respect. She is very humble and thus doesn't think much of herself and always believes she has room to grow. She doesn't take compliments well and can seem hard to get close to, but she is a very good Queen. She looks after everyone and constantly makes sure they are comfortable and safe. She always keeps herself busy and can appear stressed most of the time.
As Caeillah, the last Queen, nearly turned fifteen, she realized there was no one in the pride that would take her place as Queen. So she quickly set off to find her heir. Much sooner than she expected, she found Saya. Not only did Saya look very unique, but she was unique in character as well. Caeillah found Saya while she was helping her pride construct a new den. Despite being an adolescent, she still worked really hard and put a lot of effort and time into what she was doing. She was also good at instructing and leading others in the pride to help her with the task. When they were finished with their project, Caeillah asked her if she'd like to become the next Queen for their pride. Saya was taken aback and humbly declined, reminding Caeillah that she was still young and had a lot to learn. Caeillah reassured her that she would be a good fit, since Caeillah wasn't much older than her when she was recruited as Queen. She promised that the other lionesses would help her as well. Saya was unsure and asked to stay within the pride for a short while first to see if she liked the fit. Caeillah granted her this wish. After a couple months in the pride, and when she reached adulthood, Saya agreed to be the next Queen, but asked the others in the pride if they were okay with it first. Trusting Caeillah's judgment and having become acquainted with Saya for the last couple of months, the others in the pride eagerly agreed.
When the time was coming for Mekaisto to be reborn again, Saya gave him an odd request. She asked if he could find a new Queen after his rebirth. He didn't understand. He reassured her that although he'd be conjoining with another soul, he'd still recognize her rank as queen. He wouldn't demote her. But she argued. She wanted someone else to be Queen. It caused her too much stress. She became Queen as she was asked and did her job but she wasn't happy. She knew he knew that. He apologized to her and she told him it was okay. It's a great job, a wonderful rank, it's just not for her. He promised she'd get to choose whatever rank she wanted and she chose to be a Hunter. They needed more full-time hunters anyway and she was good at that. Now she could spend more time doing it and someone else could be a Queen and enjoy it way more and do a better job at it. She was honored to be their Queen but it wasn't her calling. Mekaisto granted her this and promised to pick a new Queen after his rebirth.

-Seeing you, Saya pins her ears down, watching you carefully, but she gets up to greet you when you smile at her.
-You wanted to take a nice walk with Saya but she has the habit of looking over her shoulder every couple of minutes. Ugh, now YOU feel nervous too!
-Saya takes a step back as you approach. After some coaxing from you she carefully comes close enough for you to nuzzle her.
-You were fast asleep when suddenly you heard Saya roaring! You arrived just in time to chase off an invading lion. You're glad she was paying attention!
