~~HUNTER~~
Aya was born right before the Shaman of the pride, Volcanic, accidentally sent the entire pride into a deep sleep for several months. When everyone finally re-awoke, they seemed to just shake it off and move on with their lives, re-adjusting. This was not how Aya felt, however. She was completely shook by the event and felt completely out of place. She was angry at her pridemates for just brushing it off and forgiving the shaman. Even King Mekaisto III seemed unbothered and only "talked" to Volcanic about the event. She wondered if everyone acted the way they did because they were already all grown and if anything the "big sleep" was a nice break where they didn't have any worries. But for her, everything had changed! All her playmates had aged and moved on while she was still a cub. Her pride also seemed disinterested in cubs and those that had been born in the pride beside her were ignored and inevitably ran away. She was the only one that stayed. She's not quite sure why she did. Maybe it was out of stubbornness. She wanted her pridemates to remember her and remember what happened. She wanted to make sure it never happened again.
Aya also has her original personality that she had before the weird sleep happened. She had always been rather timid, despite her mother being a fierce and rather mean lioness. She is gentle and often nervous and anxious. She has pretty big social anxiety, in fact, and thus spends a lot of time alone. She actually prefers the company of others but such situations stress her out so she tends to avoid them. She hopes to eventually bond with another lioness or lion so she'll feel less alone. In the mean time, she has made non-lion companions. For some reason, she feels as though the pressure is off with them. Part of her worry with other lions is that they only see her aesthetically. As in, she worries that they'd only hang out with her because they like the way she looks. She knows she's beautiful. But she fears that once they'd start to talk to her they wouldn't like her and they'd talk bad about her to others. She doesn't feel this pressure with non-lions, however, perhaps because she knows they couldn't possibly be interested in her in any way other than platonically.
As for her rank in the pride, she eventually took the role of Hunter, since two of the eldest hunters (Sundial and Megs) were in their old age when she was born. She had no preference for role so it just was chosen out of convenience.
In her old age, she became very fond of her last daughter, Ronin. To her dear happiness, her daughter decided to stay within the pride permanently. Before Aya passed, she asked if her daughter would take her Lesser Bushbaby who she had spent many years with and had become quite fond of. Though Ronin is a tough lioness, much like Tyto was, she has a gentle side that she often shows to non-lions. She happily accepted her mother's request. Aya spent her last days cuddling with her daughter.
Timid, Gentle, Anxious / She, her, hers.
-As you walk up to Aya, she hunkers down a little, whispering back a greeting as she stares at you in awe.
-You were napping, but some movement caught your attention. Aya was coming towards you with a gerbil snack, but then she stopped. Walked away. Came back. Now she looks like she wanted to bolt. You closed your eyes and pretended to be asleep still, and she finally delivered her gift to you.
-Happy but intimidated by your attention, Aya greets you shyly, then backs away to give you some space.
