Somewhere before his second birthday, he was declared King Frosted Barrage's heir. He has been training hard since, first under the tutelage of Faustus and then constantly going on hunts.

Some lionesses disappeared into the wilds. For seven months, King Frosted Barrage worried about them and Heir Apparent worked hard to get enough beetles to both entice them back and feed them. The population of the pride was culled. Whoa finally went out into the wilds with enough to bring one back.
Whoa brought back Miss Name [Eight] and that made Heir Apparent happy. He loved the way she looked, was sure she'd make wonderful cubs. He brought her before King Frosted Barrage. "Here she is sire. The one you wanted me to find in the wilds prior to the others."
King Frosted Barrage nodded. "Yes, I am pleased she has returned." He looked directly at Miss Name [Eight] and she ducked her head. "Welcome back."
"Th... th... thank you sire." She managed.
Then Whoa led her away. When they were gone and out of earshot, Heir Apparent turned to King Frosted Barrage. "She will be an excellent breeder."
Though the king looked at his current heir with an odd expression and a tilted head, he nodded slowly. "Yes, yes she will."
:Two Years, Six Months:
You notice Heir Apparent focused on a small, still moving bird under his paw. He keeps pulling away feather by feather. You stop in your tracks, deciding to not bother him right now.
:Four Years, One Month:
Frosted Barrage stepped down from being the king. His eyesight had failed him, and his instincts and reflexes were simply not fast enough to make a good king. However, Heir Apparent was not ready to be the king, so Frosted Barrage chose Faustus to lead until the younger lion was ready to take over the Pride of Light.
:Four Years, Two Months:

During his patrol of the territory's borders, he found a White Mouse, and he decided to keep it instead of killing it. {Fancy Mouse [White Self Astrex]}

While training Brilliant Scholar, Heir Apparent found a homeless Leoponess, so he brought her home. {Loving Leoponess}
