"As you approach to bump his forehead, Lord Caspian grabs your head and starts licking your snout softly."
"Lord Caspian stands on his back legs, cuddling into your soft mane for a bit as a greeting."
"Lord Caspian stands on his back legs, cuddling into your soft mane for a bit as a greeting."
Dual-colored eyes scanned the horizon almost listlessly as the young primal male gaze out to the sea, it was one of the prides territory boundaries; and in fact the most beautiful. Painted pelt twitching as the suns rays beat down Caspian huffed lowly as he rolled over onto his side, momentarily forgetting his situation and calmly enjoying the sounds of crystalline waters gently lapping at the sands. 'I wonder what the king is doing...probably talking to the females...' Almost is on cue, the sound of heavy paw steps shifting the grains below him entered into his mind.
"Caspian," the curt greeting was short as a behemoth of a primal male stood above his lithe, toned form. "What brings you out so far on your own?" The question was loaded but the baritone vocals of his king echoed emotionlessly within his mind.
"Oh, no reason, sire." He stated, calmly rolling over in the sands onto his back staring up at the largest primal he had ever set his eyes on. "Just...thinking.."
An eyebrow raised as Dracul sighing a bit as his head lowered, bumping into his favorite boy's head gently, "ad what would you be thinking so in depth about, Caspian?" He inquired lowly, stepping away from the young adolescent and sitting down carefully next to him. Taking his place, the behemoth moved a large limb over and forcefully yet....oddly gently pulled over his favorite companion, "is there something troubling you?" Inquired the bloodthirsty king.
Nuzzling into the males fur, Caspian actually smiled softly and placed an eased lick upon the kings muzzle before finding his body laying over the larger of the duo's paws and a heavy head resting carefully upon his neck, "No, not exactly troubling. I simply come down here whenever I want to remember something good," he began, "like when we first met, my King." The almost humored huff that emitted made the painted male almost giggle even, expecting some half-assed, sarcastic, snide remark to emit. Yet that wasn't what emitted...
Remembering that very day Dracul sat up a bit to look down at his companion, "Caspian, I wouldn't consider that a good memory," pausing the titan leaned down to place a rare lick upon the teens cheek, "I nearly killed you, Cas.."
"Well, yes but..." a sigh emitted as the memory came flooding back, "...I became part of your kingdom that day. Whether you attacked me, almost killed me, or whatever happened. I saw you control your own temper that day for my sake, my King." Explaining, Caspian's ears pinned bashfully at the gentle lick to his cheek, "it showed me that...as ornery and unruly as you can be when you lose your temper. You still have control." Looking to Dracul with a serious expression. "You're kind, deep down - even if you lack the privilege to show it."
That day had been the moment Caspian felt a part of a family. Bloodied and beaten by the older male - he had been an inch from death with the behemoths jaws around his skull.
---
Looking into the water, blood dripped from the young primals head. The silhouette of a beastial primal - the biggest he had ever seen in all his years of travel, towered over him. 'I don't want to die here but...' Eyes rolling upwards for a moment he fought the urge to black out before looking back into the pink tinged crystal waters of the beach. What had begun as a stroll along the beach through unknown territory had just as easily turned into a fight for his life. And if there was one thing Caspian disliked, it was fighting.
"It's....it's okay..." The bloodthirsty peach eyes of his attacker widened as the words seemed to slowly sink in. "It'll be okay," he made out, voice forced through bloodied lips. Slowly he was lowered to the ground, able to view the behemoth above him from the corner of his dual-colored eyes. The desire to kill was gone from the beasts face, it was expressionless but in those peach eyes he saw something.. They held the most emotion he had ever seen, it caused a weak smile to form upon the beaten and bloodied young primals face. Was it...regret? "...don't blame yourself, it was an accident," he muttered, finally passing out from the pain spiraling through his body.
'What have I done...' Thought the beastial king, soon moving to haul the smaller primal adolescent onto his back. Arriving to his small pride, they were startled to see the bloodied corpse upon his back but even more so at the fact their tyrant of a king gently set the corpse down onto the cleared ground below, a groan emitting from what they'd assumed was a dead body.
"S-Sir! What happened?!" Cried one lioness, though she didn't dare move from her spot as she watched the king ever so intently gazing at the young primals body.
"Patch him up...if you do not save him, you all shall suffer the consequences," the statement was not a threat, it was his word as the behemoth moved to his cave, "bring him to me when he is patched up."
---
"I woke next to you a few days later," muttered the young primal. He still hadn't grown much more from the encounter years ago, but he was more than happy with who he was - after all, Dracul seemed to love him enough deep down. That was all that mattered to him, "and the lionesses later told me you stayed by me to keep me warm until I was well enough to keep my own body heat...you didn't leave the cave," rolling onto his back Caspian gently gnawed the kings fluffy neck right under his chin, "not even to eat, sire..." The befuddled look upon Dracul's face made the younger of the two burst out laughing, it wasn't until a large pair of jaws gently bit down onto his cheek and soon neck that he calmed and snuggled back in, still on his back.
"Rumors spread, Caspian." Never would he admit to the change which followed after the mauling of who he now saw as his Queen. Sure, he bred with other lionesses, but every night he would always fall into a deep sleep beside the painted primal snuggled into his chest.
"Whatever you say, my King." Whispered Caspian, snuggling into Dracul's neck fluff even further. A bright green eyes opened and shined as he pulled at tufts of fur, "whatever you say..."
The rest of the day was spent with his King, although Dracul was quiet and Caspian did most of the talking, the next morning he awoke beside the behemoth male once more - a blast from the past.
