Uzuri

Meaning "Beauty" in Swahili, Uzuri came to the pride when she was found washed up on a riverbank, having been swept away by the recent floods. A troop of hunting lionesses came upon her, and immediately carried her back to the pride where she spent many days battling against a sickness brought upon by the chilled, muddy water she had swallowed. During this time, the Pride's Heir, Exiom, volunteered in caring for her and bringing her anything she needed. After almost two weeks of fighting for her life, the young adolescent slowly began to recover, and relief washed over many of the Pride. As her strength renewed itself, she began to talk more to the Pridemates- particularly the Prince.

In the weeks that followed, Uzuri ended up falling for Exiom, and once she recovered fully both began a long time of courting one another. Many lions noted their disappearances in the warm African sunset, but none said a word. It has been agreed that Uzuri would rather stay here than return to her original Pride, although King Tamazi insisted he sent his raven to her previous home to inform them of her safety and happiness. Prince Exiom decided that she would be his Queen when he ascended; and now that he has Queen Uzuri couldn't be happier.

Today, she spends her time looking after the Pride's cubs alongside the Broodmothers, and occasionally joining hunting parties- she may be Queen, but that doesn't mean she's above Pride duties.
