Kriketi is a sour lioness.
Despite this, Kijivu's humble and calm nature makes him one of the few lions she can tolerate the presence of.
She was exiled as an adolescent when her own mother threatened her life over her slow progress in her hunting lessons. The king of the pride chased her off for her own safety, but the experience has left the lioness with emotional scars.
She was practically forcefully adopted by Juhudi, who found her weak and starving by the Giving tree.
Unlike her three parents, she is not one to take a joke. She is extremely touchy, and her parents humor grates against her a lot. She often picked fights with the other adolescents, and even brashly trying to join hunts despite lack of experience. She learned her lesson when she had an unfortunately near-death run-in with a leopardess who had come to visit her father, Juhudi, whom she foolishly picked a fight with.
Juhudi, ridden with guilt, drove the leopardess off and cried that night.
The lioness has since then been even more bitter than her own nature, feeling betrayed yet again in her life.
She became violent, and eventually her pride-mates began to tiptoe around her, even Kijivu, who was previously very close to her.
This changed when she met Choma, a kind lioness who took the time to befriend her and eventually mellowed her out.
While she is still habitually violent, Choma made it easier for Kijivu to approach her.
Eventually, the close friendship between the two became something more, and Kriketi announced that she had claimed Choma as her mate.
Choma did not protest.
The two soon arranged for a surrogate father, a man-eater that Kriketi surprisingly befriended.
They now have two cubs, Masizi and Pili.
