~~HUNTER / LAHARU BFF~~
Aurelia joined Mekaisto V's pride with the intention to be part of the hunting party. She just showed up to the pride one day and said she was a great hunter and a hardworker and was willing to commit if they needed her. They had space for one more full-time hunter so absolutely welcomed her to join the crew. What they didn't know was her real reason. She does what she said she would--she hunts with the pride and is pretty amazing at it actually. But when it's time to eat, she's nowhere to be seen, with a huge chunk or an entire carcass missing as well.
Honestly, when Aurelia was just a cub, she got separated from her home pride. She was chased by a clan of Spotted Hyenas and inevitably ran into an unfamiliar area and hid under a fallen tree. The hyenas weren't able to find her and dispersed. But when she thought she was safe, a tall Striped Hyena appeared and looked at her curiously. She nervously hid again, worried she was still in danger. But then the hyena offered her some of its food, realizing that she was a lost and hungry lion cub. She had been warned that all hyenas are bad, treacherous creatures, and was shocked but grateful to learn that wasn't the case. She accepted the meal. It was too late to find her way home so she stayed in her hiding place through the night. But the wind was cold and she shivered. The stranger hyena noticed and cuddled up to her to keep her warm. By morning, he introduced himself as Laharu and told her that he unfortunately wouldn't be able to escort her home but that she was welcome to stay with him. She had no idea where home was so decided to stay by his side.
When she reached adolescence, she explored a bit to see if she could find her home-pride. She actually did come across the scent of her original King but decided that she'd actually rather stay with Laharu. She worried that he'd be alone if she left him, since she noticed that no one else ever came to visit him. By adulthood, they were best friends. She'd hunt and scavenge with him, play with him, and cuddle with him. He urged her to do what she was supposed to do--join a real lion pride. He worried that he was keeping her from her true destiny. He was so insistent that she finally decided to look for a pride to join part-time at least. That's how she found Mekaisto V's pride. She had spied on them for weeks, noticing that not all members were fully committed yet still welcome. She knew that she'd be able to live half a life there and half with Laharu; and also be able to share more food with him. So that's exactly what she did.
Some of the pride eventually figured out her other activities but of course they didn't mind. She wasn't the first lioness to join the pride with a non-lion companion; especially not the first to feel positively towards hyenas. She specified that she only likes Striped Hyenas since to this day she sees Spotted Hyenas as bullies. The pride eventually told her she was welcome to invite Laharu to join. She extended the invitation to him but she already knew his answer. He was shy and preferred his little territory/den he had claimed long ago. So half the time she is in her pride, and half the time she is by his side. And she couldn't be happier.
Personality-wise she is playful, unafraid of getting dirty, and protective. She sometimes cuddles and wrestles her fellow lionesses, but mostly does so with Laharu. She is not super interested in males but when she's in heat she can't help herself. Otherwise, she seemingly shows no attraction for anyone. But she is entirely platonically in love with Laharu and prefers to spend as much time as possible in his company.

-Aurelia wanted to go swimming with you. Really. Though, now you are waiting for her in the water and she's sitting on the shore, too terrified to move. Hah.
-When you approach, Aurelia walks towards you to graze her side against yours, before starting to pounce on grasshoppers.
-Aurelia lets out a hearty roar of greeting when you arrive. She listens attentively as you tell her how things went.
-You were feeling a little distressed at an argument that broke out earlier. Thankfully, Aurelia came up to you to nuzzle you and tell you it wasn't your fault. She's right - and you feel better.
Success! This female lion is now pregnant after 306 unsuccessful attempts. Yay! ~ya feckin sheit
