Ramaaza has always been burdened from a young age. From birth, she was treated differently from the other cubs. While her friends could play baoball in the shades of towering baobabs, Ramaaza had to sit in the glaring heat of the Sun to pray. She soon grew to hate the colour of her pelt. The other lionesses might have seen it as a gift from the gods, but Ramaaza saw it as a curse that would hound her for the rest of her life. Fortunately, she found solace in the small animals that wandered her way. Though they were little, their company was more than enough to comfort Ramaaza’s lonely heart.

When it was proclaimed that a better lioness be crowned Empress instead of Zahira (the former), all eyes turned to Ramaaza. “She will lead us.” “She will be our Queen.” The lionesses seemed to say. “You were made for this.” The lioness merely closed her eyes and steeled herself for what was to come. Soon after, she was crowned Empress.

Today, Ramaaza remains a benevolent and nurturing ruler. Together with Xieros, they have ushered in a Golden Age for the Sun Kingdom. Stories and lore portray her as a legendary Empress whose birth heralded the golden reign of the Sun, but those close to her know her as a trusting lioness who finds hope in the smallest things.
