~~WARRIOR~~
Accidentally separated from her pride in a desert storm, Catrin was jumped by young adult lionesses when she was an adolescent. She fled into some caves to take shelter from the constant barrage of desert storms and to lick her wounds from the attack. While traveling in there she came upon some weird pictures in the walls and realized she was in some sort of tomb. Eventually she came upon a strange glowing object. It made her feel calm for some reason, and safe, so she slept next to it. As she fell asleep, she wished to find peace--to find help. She awoke to a full stomach and a warm glowing feeling throughout her body. She thought she heard an echo that said "You have found the altar of Ra, wary traveler. Be humble and take this blessing." She looked back at the glowing object and felt truly grateful. She bowed and thanked 'Ra' for helping her and used his blessing to find herself some food. She found that this place was full of rats and other easy hunts and felt blessed once more. Once she felt strong again, she promised to return to visit often, and went back out of the cave into the light.
Catrin eventually found the pride of Mekaisto VI and agreed to join as a warrior and hunter when needed. Whenever she can, she returns to the Altar of Ra and pays her respect to the holy being that helped her. She is truly devoted and keeps all rats and rodents away from his altar. One day, while bowing and praying, she heard another voice. "You come often." She looked up and saw no one. She closed her eyes and nodded. The voice rung again. "Why do you come back?" She kept her eyes closed and responded. "You helped me when no one else would. I probably would've perished here if you hadn't. I felt alone and scared and I was weak. I'm strong now and it's because of you. I will always be grateful, and so I will always show my thanks." There was quiet again, then a wind blew around her. The voice was softer but sounded closer. She kept her eyes closed still. "Ra, the sun god is the one that blessed you. He saw humility in your soul and gave you a second chance. But it is I who has always spoken to you. I am Anubis, the god of death." She was quiet, waiting for him to continue. There was a bit of a pause and then he spoke again. "Do I not frighten you?" She shook her head honestly. "No, holy Anubis. If it were your intent to take my life, you would already have done so for I know you have the power. And if you were to do so, I would not be afraid. I was spared once and I'm thankful. I do not fear death now that I know how lucky it is to be granted life when I felt dead inside. But your voice and presence is calming to me and I am not afraid of you regardless. Should I be?" Catrin thought she heard a chuckle, she then felt a whoosh of air like something big had lied down beside her. She got the overpowering urge to open her eyes and looked to her left to see a large creature that reminded her of a mix of a wolf and a jackal, but vastly more regal and divine. She bowed her head deeper, shutting her eyes. "Forgive me, lord Anubis, for looking upon you without permission." He chuckled again. "Worry not, child. I have appeared before you on purpose. You are the first to visit in many years that I have enjoyed the company of. I look forward to welcoming your soul to the afterlife, but for now I'll be glad to stay in your company when you visit. You may raise your head." She did as he bid and glanced at him once more, nodding humbly.
From then on, whenever Catrin visited the altar, she could feel Anubis' presence and oftentimes he'd appear before her. They never really spoke again, and would just sit in silence while she prayed, or he'd lurk around while she hunted the rats in the tombs.
