Kovu was found surrounded by a coalition of male lions trying to kill him to get the lioness back into heat though he was small kovu was going to try to fight just as the coalition moved in king faolan stumbles upon the coalition and he killed every one of them then he looked a the cub who was growling at him then he approached it and licked it kovu was surprised by king faolans friendliness and curled close to him then king faolan picked up the cub and took him back to his pride and treated him like a prince but kovu didn’t like to be pampered he preferred to fight so he would sneak and play with kiara and they would play fight for hours thy seemed smitten with one another king faolan started to take notice of this and vowed to not mate with kiara as he said the she was to be Kovus love and kovu thanked him.
