You notice a fountain of dirt. Getting closer, you see Halekh head first in a large dirt hole digging for bugs. Much to the displeasure of everyone in the pride, Halekh has adopted three orphaned hyena cubs, and has taken to wearing the scavenged skin of a dead hyena as a disturbing method of comforting them. If it were any ordinary lioness, the pride's annoyance at the smell and noise produced by the cubs would have resulted in Halekh being forced to get rid of them. Halekh, however, is a Mhenchir, star-blessed, a group that also counts Alwa Winter-Thief and Alithaine Sun-Chaser. She also has a tendency to leave unpleasant things in nests when annoyed with another pride member. The cubs are named Aoi, Hhab, and Orha, roughly translating to 'Loud,' 'Small' and 'Soft', respectively. You watch a bit disturbedly as Halekh rolls around, gnawing on a smooth piece of rock and slobbering all over.
