Laini, whose name means "Soft," was named for her kind expression, and gentle confidence. She knows she is different from the others here, but has found a great friendship with Jalia, the Leopon in this Pride. She understands Jalia's sorrow, and feels a great need to heal Jalia's broken heart. She can often be found nearby, watching Jalia fight her own inner demons, waiting to offer support, if needed.

Laini is truly is afraid of very little. Her size is greater than the other lionesses, but she does not maliciously use it to her advantage. Instead, she silently listens to the others, with a strange capability of feeling their emotions, and is great at offering advice for most situations. She feels a strong need to protect those who are incapable of standing on their own. She has proven herself when accompanying the hunting parties, but prefers to remain in the pride lands, caring for those who cannot hunt. The elders find her most helpful, and appreciate the attention she gives them. Cubs often flock to her, berating her with a million questions about her size and where she came from, to which she patiently answers.
