Grandpaw Shere Khan { King } sits in the shadows with Base Change { Penumbra }, and you're just too far away to hear everything they're saying; you certainly heard Grandpaw Shere Khan { King } pass on some of his more nasty parlour tricks to his grandcub, though. Pipkin { Cub } darts around the den, laughing and giggling before Grandpaw Shere Khan { King } sticks a foot out and trips them up. Pipkin { Cub } falls on their face and begins to sniffle, unable to hold back the waterworks as Grandpaw Shere Khan { King } calls them weak and pathetic. After you told off Pipkin { Cub } for stealing a toy off a younger sibling, you spot Grandpaw Shere Khan { King } pull them aside and grossly encourage that sort of behaviour. You find Pipkin { Cub } sniffling sadly. It turns out, they got pushed away from the carcass by the others and now they're hungry. Poor little one! You scrounge up some leftover scraps for them, and they are delighted. Pipkin { Cub } was watching you intently as you told her your plans for watching the border tomorrow. She seems unconvinced you can pull it off, however. Sigh.
