As you walk through the soft, tall grass around the edges of the pond, admiring the beauty of the place, you suddenly feel something squirm beside your paw. Looking down, you find a cobra, curled up, with its head fanned out, ready to strike. You jump back to avoid a deadly bite, stumbling over your own paws and crashing to the ground. As the cobra turns to slink off into the grass, you realize it was just a false cobra all along. You swear that you can hear the laughing of a lioness, but as you pick yourself up and brush yourself off, you don't seem to see anyone around.
Here lies Obwati. A whisper of the past.

Obwati the mischievous, prankster of the Placid Pond Pride
Under the rule of King Mercutial
Run out of her old pride for her cruel tricks, and general attitude, Obwati was one of the first members of the Placid Pond Pride. One might think it was out of desperation that they allowed her to join, but in fact, Mercutial always claimed to see redeeming qualities in her, and had to convince her to stay after she had simply stopped by the pond for a rest. Some have come to believe she's the result of a cub that was never believed in or properly cared for, but Obwati loudly proclaims that she had a wonderful cub hood, though she refuses to say more than that, and that she just knows how to enjoy herself and have a good time.
Considered a less than kind lioness, Obwati has been known to trip cubs and walk off cackling, and used to lure Dathryn close to the thorny bushes to see the shrikes, only to push him in. Luckily Dathryn has gotten wise to her tricks, not that she isn't constantly inventing new ones. Mercutial however seems to be mostly free of her wrath, and in fact, when no one else is looking, she's even been known to show him affection. Many in the pride believes it has to do with the many chances Mercutial gave her, and being the only lion to ever really believe in her. Others have tried, but none have had the patience to test the theory fully.
Intro under Mercutial
The den is large and surprisingly spacious, with lionesses coming and going as they please. As you wander through, you find yourself suddenly alone in a corner. As you turn around to continue meeting the pride, you come face to face with a lioness. She must have snuck up on you on silent paw pads. It's a bit hard to decide what colour her fur is exactly, adorned with all kinds of lighter spots and stripes, that seem to catch the light a different way as she shifts. "A visitor, hm?" She sighs, her voice low as she slowly circles you, looking over you. You have to turn your head, and crane your neck to watch her, and the second you reach your limit, and move to turn your head the other way, something sharp stabs into your haunches. A strange noise escapes you, as your body forces you to jerk away, and you turn to stare at the lioness. She has plopped herself down, her tail flicking back and forth, and a strange sparkle in her eye as she watches you. "Something wrong dear?" You curl back and lick your haunches, there doesn't seem to be any damage, and it didn't feel like a claw. You look back, eyeing the lioness. She has her paws folded over something, and you can't quite see what it is, but you're not sure you want to spend any more time with this lioness. You keep an eye on her as you carefully make your retreat.

Getting to know Obwati
What is your favourite food?
"Chicken. Not very filling, but it's just so much fun to see the look on the dumb human's faces when you run off with one of their birds... and the taste is familiar, but I just can't put my paw on it."
What is your favourite item for amusement?
"Beetles! Not live ones. I don't think Merc would forgive me if I messed with his precious beetles, but those things don't live long, you know? So we've got like stacks of dead ones. They're great! You can hide them, stick them in lioness's dinner... and they have these pointy little horns on them, so you can poke animals with them, and stick them under a lion's butt when they go to sit down. I mean, I guess you can bat them around or whatever too."
What's your favourite season?
"The dry season. Unpopular opinion, I know. I just don't like how... wet... the air feels in the wet season. Sure, some weaklings are going to starve, but that just makes more food for the rest of us, right?"
What's your favourite time of day?
"Definitely night time. It's cool, and dark. It's a good time to mess with the others because they can't see it coming, and no one really bothers you if you slip away. It's also a good time for cudd- ah, well, other stuff."
Which biome do you enjoy the most?
"What a weird question. Savannah I guess. Not too dry, not too wet... grass to hide in, and trees for shade, but not so many trees you can't walk. Yeah. Savannah."
Which lion are you closest to?
"I don't like being close to any of them. They smell and they have stupid hairy faces. But if I have to choose, I guess Mercutial."
Which lioness are you closest to?
"None of them. I'm not close to anyone. What kinds of questions are these? I mean, I guess I've had a better time since Xeleris joined the pride. I mentor her, you know?"
What are your hobbies?
"Now we're talking. Pranking, lounging, sunning myself, messing with the others... you know, just generally enjoying life! You should try it some time."

Special Notes: Just a really pretty chased lioness I got a long, long time ago.
