Bekaru

Small clouds of dust come up around your paws as you plod along the cliffs, you smell lions but are unsure of where they might be. Suddenly a young male lion jumps on top of you and pins you down.
"WHO are YOU and WHAT are your intentions here?" He demands
You explain that you are simply just a traveler, a passer by of sorts, and have come to learn about your prides rich history.
The subordinate male jumps off of you and starts licking his paws right away.
"Follow" He says once hes done cleaning himself.
You follow the young lion, and as you are walking you start to get curious.
"Whats your name?' you ask him.
"Bekaru" he replies, "And i have the job of protecting our clan since im the subordinate, i make sure we dont have any unwanted guests." There is a long pause and then he begins again. "So what do you want to know about our pride?'
You explain that you simply are doing a research project for a couple that wants to move into the area and start their own clan, they want to know who their neighbors are.
"Well you see, our first king and queen, KIng Eldoragio and Queen Kilarikikia dont have much royal blood left, only two living heirs, and our current king, King Pila, was only crowned due to a lack of royal blood. We are working on rebuilding ourselves and incorporating more royal blood into our pride. I am of no relation, i was simply taken in."
You nod your head, waiting for him to say more.
"Eldoragio was a very kind king, and let a lot of lions into our pride that needed a home, but in doing so forgot to pass on the blood to a male heir. Hopefully, one of the last two drops of royal blood will have a male heir, or else i might end up becoming king, and im not sure how i feel about that, i dont like attention that much."
As the two of you near a river he stops and nods at you to come foward.
"This is where we part ways, our territory ends at the river, have a safe rest of your journey, and dont mind any hyenas that you see, they are our allies."
You dip your head in acknowledgement before plunging into the cold river, as you near the other side you look back to see Bekaru gone.
