Hellia is the sole cub of Ana and pride leader Valors, born after Ana's difficult pregnancy. She was very physically weak as a cub, struggling to keep up with cubs of her own age and having very little energy to play, let alone train with her father, and spent most of her growing days in frequent naps. Hellia's future looked grim, and her mother all but abandoned her, feeling little remorse for the cub and expecting the inevitable. The inevitable never came; as an equally weak but very much alive adolescent, Hellia would become close to a pride broodmother named Jasper who took up raising her alongside the occasional visit from Valors. She would estrange herself from her birthgiver, making it clear to all that Jasper was her only mother figure.
Unknown to the pride at the time, Hellia had a condition called narcolepsy, which affected her wakefulness, muscle control and ability to maintain memories. Otherwise a healthy and relatively fertile lioness, she would often collapse to the ground in paralysis for a few moments before regaining her posture, an alarming sight to other pride members near her. Despite this, she would become a cherished member of the pride to both young and old, a daydreamer who accepted her limitations and cared extensively for preserving the records of the pride dating all the way back to Lightfallen.
Hellia would become romantically close to Valors' subordinate Borealis, a daydreamer themselves who returned her feelings. When they usurped her father and became Stormdweller, Hellia was the first to embrace their leadership and direction for the pride. She would become pregnant with their cub and with personal support from both Stormdweller I and Jasper she gave birth to one daughter, Livia. Although her cub experienced a visible mutation in their skin, Hellia vowed she would forever be there for her offspring as long as she breathed.
When her birthgiver Ana developed affection for her grandchild and made clear she wanted to see the cub, Hellia silently made her disgust known by refusing to visit the elderly lioness and leaving the visits to her longtime best friend and Livia's broodmother Mya, a lioness with the same Achromia condition as Livia. Hellia was not present when Ana passed away nor took any part in her burial.
Valors
The cub Hellia came out of a thicket with her fur all full of sticks and leaves. You offered to help them get her out and spent the rest of the morning doing just that.
Stormdweller
You playfully stuck a feather into the fur on Hellia’s head. She laughed and asked how she looked. Quite elegant, really.
