TRAVELLER UNO'S JOURNEY

Username and ID: Kiyero (#51117)

Story: Uno has always been an explorer. Ever since she arrived into El Arbi's territory, she's dreamed of exploring other territories, meeting new lions and lionesses and seeing all there is too see in this world. Anyone who got her talking about all the adventures she wanted to go on would get their ear talked off. As she got older, her adoptive father El Arbi felt it would be best for Uno (and for the others pridemembers sanity) to let her go on her adventure. Before she left, she was gifted a tail band to remember her tribe by.

As Uno left her prides territory, she wondered what her journey would bring her...

Story: Traveller Uno stayed with King Loren's Pride for a very long time, but she had to move on, fore her heart wanted to lead her elsewhere. Somewhere out there, was a voice calling to her, and whispering to her that she needed to get out there. So she bid the cubs and lionesses farewell. She had grown close to quite a few from the pride, especially after Grandpa Hoseok passed. But she knew she couldn't stay. She turned to Loren and licked his shoulder in respect, and set out with her new, small friends. Birds, insects, even a warthog and his little meerkat friend. She laughed and was glad she wouldn't be alone. Farewell, dear friend.

Story: Uno wandered a bit too close to a river and ended falling into the current. Her cries for help only earned her water in the mouth and eventually she was thrown out into a lake unconscious. She awoke to three lionnesses and cub in her face. Uno jumped to her feet, only to fall back on her haunches as she was overcome with exhaustion. She doesn't remember much of the journey to the pride den, but she does remember passing through a waterfall to get there. She awoke the next morning refreshed and a hog laying beside her ready to eat. After eating she followed voices to where all of the lionnesses were gathered and chatting over breakfast. One dark lionness sat on a rock, overlooking her pride with a careful eye before her starshine eyes turned to Uno. With a flick of her head, she was prodded to come. The lioness introduced herself as Lore, Queen of the Pride of Bad Decisions. She didn't quite go into why they were called that, instead she invited Uno to stay for a few days to regain her strength. She told her they weren't sure how long she was under water, but their healer wanted to make sure there wasn't any latent water lurking in her lungs.

After the few days of stories, hunting, and wrestling, Uno was sent off with some new skills and another story to tell of her great rescue.

Story: After wandering for a short while she came across the pride of dalmar the second and asked if she could stay for a while. Dalmar the second welcomed the traveller into his pride with open arms and introduced her to the rest of the pride. She soon became great friends with Dalmar the second and spent her time helping him with hunting and in return he rewarded her with a special mixture of herbs that changed her fur colour to the amazing colour that it is now.

Story: Quite a few suns had set when Uno came across a pile of rabbit carcasses. Her stomach growled in protest and, after checking that no one was around to claim the meal, she bent down to fill her belly. As she ate, a sudden loud rustling startled Uno, and she whirled around as a steele grey lioness barreled into her. Before she could speak in defense of herself, the angry lioness slapped Uno hard across her face, leaving a stinging scratch across one of her eyes. The other lioness roared out and asked Uno what business she had trespassing in another pride's territory. Quickly, Uno explained how she was a traveler, going from one place to the next to learn lore and experience life outside of her home pride. Hours passed and the two lionesses had come to good terms with one another, with the grey lioness apologizing deeply for her actions. Uno was brought back to the pride that the lioness belonged to and was formally introduced to the king. He was an elder felis, slow to move, and requiring the help of a much younger sub male. He introduced himself as Mazeratti, Prince of the Savannah and King of the Tall-Shadows Pride. After a few days of quiet mingling, storytelling, and feasting with the pride, Uno was given a rabbit fur cloak as an apology for her eye and as a token of kinship with the Tall-Shadows Pride. She left on an early foggy morning, excited where her next journey would take her.

During her first adventure, Uno comes across a lone lioness equipped with travel gear. The lioness approached her happily, hoping to have come across another traveler. The lioness introduced herself as
Spectra a member of the Spiral Pride. She was a transfer point for most traveling lions and her pride welcomed Travelers happily. Over the course of her stay Spectra taught Wander many new skills and hunting techniques. It wasn't long before Uno's stay came to a end. She tussled her new friends happily and to say goodbye, however she knew her journey needed to continue. With a flock of her tail she bid farewell.

Story: Uno came to the Drakensberg mountains in a time of chaos and unrest. The elderly King Bintei – an elusive leader whose name was once shrouded in mystery – had misjudged a leap and fallen to his death, leaving his pride in anarchy. Daunted by the conflict, Uno lingered on the fringes of the territory until Primrose, a canny old lioness, took pity on her. She wove her a leafy sarong to keep warm in the harsh mountain weather, showed her around the territory and introduced her to the Iklwa, the pride's fiercest hunting party. Unfortunately, the leader of the Iklwa, Cast, was less than impressed with Uno's hunting skills, but the lionesses took a liking to her.
She stayed in the mountains just long enough to witness the rise of King Persia. He was a beautiful lion with boundless energy, but his impulsive nature and lack of work ethic left her worrying for the pride's future. Uno left the mountains filled with misgivings, plagued by the uneasy feeling that everything that, for Primrose and her new friends, everything was about to change...

Story; After giving birth to a little lioness named Mustafa, Traveller Uno decided to take her cub with her and return to her home pride for a time. She crossed through countless territories to get back home, and by the time she'd almost made it back her little cub had fallen ill. it might've been the cold weather, or being moved too soon by the inexperienced mother, but whatever the cause little Mustafa died before she could ever see her mother's home territory.
Feeling devastated and extremely guilty after losing her child, Uno went into a state of shock. She holed herself up into one of Inti del Sol's caves and didn't come out for about 4 moons. Her family brought her food and kept her company sometimes, but it was is if she'd given up on life. She often said, why should I be allowed to go on after what I did to my daughter?
One day, Traveller Uno was laying her nest as usual, when a silvery and bright light suddenly filled the gloomy cave. Lifting her head from her paws, she locked eyes with the one lioness she'd never thought she'd see her again. Mustafa. She didn't look like the last time Uno had seen her, all skin and bones and shivering to the core. She looked healthy and lively, and the ghost of her daughter started running circles around her. She said she was so excited to see her momma again, and that it'd been so hard to try and communicate with her. After talking for a while and being comforted by each others presence, Mustafa bluntly told her mother that she needed to move on and get out of this godforsaken cave. This is the sage advice her daughter, who'd been taken much too soon, had for her:
You can't keep wallowing in grief after someone passes. For them, you have to move on. For them, you have to get up in the morning. For them, you keep living. Because they'll never get that opportunity anymore, so you need to take it for them.
Now and then, Traveller Uno still sees the spirit of her daughter, running and tumbling around her.

Story: it was the middle of the night when she was awoken by a cub nervously walking up to her. she stiffened. the cub at first looked just like her own child. but no, it was just mmea. mmea was shivering,
"nightmare?" she asked softly. the cub nodded.
"Come here, snuggle up." she whispered. the cub then snuggled up against the lioness. gently, she murmured a lullaby she heard once from a lioness to their cub a while back.
"Hush, little cub, don’t way a word
Mama’s gonna catch you a mockingbird
And if that mockingbird don’t sing
Mama’s gonna find you a diamond ring
And if that diamond ring turns brass,
Mama’s gonna find you a looking glass
And if that looking glass gets broke
Mama’s gonna catch you a billy goat..."

Story:
Uno had left Distopia's pride, and resumed wandering the plains, 4 months had passed and she still hadn't found refuge. She was starving and weary, the only joy she felt was when Mustafa came down from the heavens to visit. Her fur had gone dull, and a few of her ribs had made their presence known. Uno was on her last leg when the sand storm started in the gorge. She had been scrounging around for a few lizards, and was caught unaware as the sand whipped and spun around. Uno ran, keeping her eyes closed and her breathing to a minimum. Eventually, she fell. Unknown to her, Mustafa had descended from the heavens and saw the situation Uno was in. Mustafa looked around, and saw what looked to be a large, but rather plain male sitting in the entrance to a cave. She floated over, and whispered into his ear about the location of her mother and the state she was in. The male would never know what came over him that day, as he went to go save an unknown lioness. The male rose to his feet, and bounded down to the gorge. Following Mustafa's instructions he crouched down next to Uno, and grabbed her scruff. Trudging through the sandstorm, he kept his head held high, and leapt up onto the mouth of his prides cave. Feeling the eyes of his pridemates upon him, he dragged Uno's small, light figure to the back of the cave, before returning to his post.

Uno opened her eyes, and blinked. She was in a cave, with cubs, adolescents, and lionesses crowded around her. Scrambling to her feet, she flattened her ears.
'Easy, sweetheart. No one here is going to hurt you. Especially after I went through the trouble of saving you.' A voice rumbled from the entrance.
Uno watched as the lions parted to reveal a large primal.
'W-who are you?' Uno asked warily. She flinched, hearing the small presence of fear in her voice.
'I'm no one, really. I'm just here to make sure my pridemates don't loose their heads while their king is gone.'
'Hey, soliel, do you really mean that?' one of the cubs, a melanistic, cried out.
'No, I don't really mean that ardoise.' soliel sighed.
Uno glanced between the two of them, intrigued.
'Miss?.... What's your name?' the small melanistic asked.
'My name? It's Uno.' She stated.
'That's a weird name, but..I suppose you think our names are weird too.' ardoise answered, a grin on her face.
-
Uno laid down in front of you with a concerned look on her face.
'soleil, what're you thinking about? you've been sitting here for HOURS.'
'Mmmh, nothing much.. just wondering if you'll be around to see our king return.' soliel answered, still looking out over the gorge.
'I'm leaving tomorrow...' Uno said, getting up. 'but I'd like to meet the king of your pride.' her voice fading as she went further into the cave.
-
'Goodbye everyone! Maybe i'll come back someday!' Uno called out as she started down from the cave to the gorge.
'Bye Uno!' a chorus of voices called out.
'Be sure to watch out for sandstorms!' she heard soleil shout.

Story:

The young lioness was found by Sebastian during a nightly patrol, weakened by days of walking and being short on food. Upon waking up in the pridelands of the Mungano Amani pride, Uno was inmediatly greeted by two enthusiastic young lionesses by the names of Almasi and Chokoleti, who wouldnt stop asking about her various accessories and gorgeous fur color. The king, Fheda, was very fond of their new visitor, but made it clear that she had to earn her stay like everyone else, so the blue eyed female was sent to hunt on her own, followed only by her two newest fans. Her ability to take down two elephant calves and an innocent goat on her first day was more than mesmerizing, and it had the two adolescents squealing in excitement, begging the older lioness to teach them how to be as cool as her. She stayed for long enough to help them train and watch them grow and blossom into brave and stunning young lionesses, who reminded her so much of her own child.

Once she felt the need to leave once again, Uno said her goodbyes with tears in her eyes and a happy smile, and once again left to continue with her journey, not without earning a very tiny companion as a gift from her faithful students!

Story: After many years of travelling from place to place, living out that childhood dream she'd promised herself she would fulfill, Traveller Uno finds herself... tired. Somehow she is 8 years old now and Uno can feel she is starting to slow down. Perhaps... some familiar faces would do well right now? And so, one step after the other, Uno goes back to the beginning. She returns to her birthplace, to El Arbi's territories, only to find in the time since her last visit things have changed drastically. The lion who greets her as she re-enters her birthplace is not old El Arbi himself but an unfamiliar male. It seems that, in her absence, El Arbi has died. A new king seems to have taken his place. He humbly introduces himself as Inti del Sol the Aztec Knight , after Traveller Uno makes clear who she is, and guides her back home. Though he seems sceptical at first, he remembers tales told to him by lionesses long dead of a young pride member who had braved the wastelands to find adventure.

There are precious few still living from Uno's time as a youngling, though old Featherwing is still kicking. The wisened lioness practically raised her after she'd been found orphaned by El Arbi and brought under his wings. Having her back seems to comfort Featherwing in her old age, though Uno can tell her time is fast approaching. This fills her with dread, not only at the thought of losing her mother-figure but also for her own mortality. How long until she too was stooped with age, unable to even join in on a hunt anymore?

Uno stays in her birthplace for several months, unsure of her place in it anymore. Things have changed drastically since her adopted father's reign, some for the better. Though Uno loved El Arbi, even she had to admit he could be incredibly cruel and blood-thirsty. When she'd left he'd still been keeping up some semblance of a peaceful mask, but from the stories Featherwing tells it devolved into nothing short of madness after she left. He was always a walking contradiction, the old molly would say, but in his final years he seemed to just give into his darkness fully. She was glad his reign ended when it did.

Inti del Sol, their new king, seems just as contradictory as his predecessor... if only in different ways. In personality he is much more compassionate and kinder than El Arbi. He treats his pridemates with a sense of respect, speaking candidly at all times, even when a little white lie might provide some comfort. But he has no such courtesy while exploring, incuring violence whenever he wants or needs to. He excuses it as protecting his pride, but Uno sees a look in his eyes when he says this. A hunger, something subtly moving beneath the surface of his brown gaze. El Arbi wore the same look in his eyes, had that same hunger gnawing at his mind. Perhaps Inti was simply more resistent to the darkness that ate at him, but Uno knew the truth about him. And Inti, sensing her hunger for the next adventure, her fear of leaving this earth with nothing to show for it, understood her. They grew closer over the months she stayed with them, recognizing the unspoken bond they'd begun to form.

Out of this union, a child was born. Traveller Uno was incredibly frightened to be pregnant once more, remembering what happened to her dear Mustafa previously. But it seemed the stars smiled on her this time, for a healthy male cub was born to the now rather senior lioness. He was named 'Wayward Son' by Inti del Sol, in honour of his mother's adventures. The little cub soon began to show a similar love for exploring as he aged, and became just as confident and compassionate as his father.

But things were changing rapidly in Uno's pride once again. Her panic, which had subsided somewhat as her love for Inti bloomed and as she raised their child, reappeared. She felt trapped, as if she were locked in a gilded cage. Inti, though though dearly beloved by Uno, seemed to be beginning to slip down a dangerous path... just as El Arbi had been.

She needed to get back out there. It couldn't be over yet. Not just yet.

And so, Traveller Uno slipped out of the caves one night, silently leaving behind her pride. She gave not a single word of warning to Inti, only paying Wayward Son a visit as she left. She left him with a warning, and a request. With her gone, she feared Inti might turn out just as El Arbi had in his final years. He needed a counterweight, someone to temper his urges and question his decisions. Their son, bold and beautifully light as he was, could be what Uno had been to Inti.

After tearful goodbyes, Uno was once again on her own. She wondered, as she padded serenely beneath the soft moonlight, what exactly these last few years of adventuring might bring...

Story:

( C.W. depictions of violence, unhealthy dynamics and abusive behaviors. )

The first struck her left cheek. Next, was a hit to the top right side of her head. It was that impact then, she thinks, that saved her from going half blind due to the final blow. Which, at least she's sure, was not going to be the last if events hadn't played out the ways they did.

But she was old. And the power behind that second-to-last pound caused her to stumble down, careening left, and almost trip over one of her paws. Might've sprained an ankle if she fell any further, and hadn't caught herself just before doing so.
The swiftness of each strike paired with the unexpected nature of the onslaught itself left her stunned, and age didn't help by making her wind easy. She would not have been able to defend herself in that moment if she tried. But the attacker, deliberate in his strikes as he was, was almost doing it without thought. He didn't have time to re-angle that one, or even stop to consider needing it. So instead of a jab to an eye, his claws would end up snagging a patch of her cape.

The time spent between that moment and the next she took to have a paw graze over one of the numerous tender spots about her face.

She didn't quite see the next bit, no. Or more like she hadn't yet perceived it. But, out the corner of her eye, she'd caught a flash of blue-lavender fur rushing past and barreling straight into him. Guiding the lion further back, away from her and her staggered mind. All the while she found herself staring unsteadily down and watched as her blood pooled into the sand.

"Vou, please—! You’re hurting her! It’s fine-! I’m fine- It’s al—"

"Does this seem alright to you?"

There was something wrong with that tone. More then what already was made clear but her still-ringing ears could pick up that extra oddness too. It was even and cool, not a hint of anything amiss. Which was the problem. There was no cadence. No emotion to it, or whatever else should be there. Calm, where it should not be. That wasn't how the king was, She knew.

You know what was wrong with it? It was as if he felt they were speaking about the weather. As though this added up, somehow. On top of that, there was the hurried assurances that came rushing from Coral's jaws. Oftentimes, she spoke as though she were close to sleep. Not today. "Look at you. Child," Even as his words almost seemed the echoes of a croon, there was still a hollowness to them. And Coral, coiled and fidgeting, crouched low to the ground- it was a visage so out of place and inherently incorrect as the lion continued to have themself firmly planted in front of her, between the two of them. "You cannot tell me this suffices. Her’s will barely scar. Those flesh wounds she bears now are mere reminders. They are skin-deep. You, however?" He leaned, brows lifting as he placed emphasis on the next three words. "You’ve a gash." Then his gaze finally angled back to her. She thinks she's pinpointed how to tell, now. Something about having the detached, almost dead eyes staring emptily back at her made everything almost pointedly clear in this regard. While she couldn't see his pupils, she could certainly feel them. "Because of her negligence."
"Do you think me wrong?" She faintly wonders in her haze how anyone could stand being talked to with that look pinned on them. So void of everything save for an intensity filed to a point, while knowing well whatever's under there is so deeply cavernous. Once there back on Coral she almost feels the need to step before them in defense. But by the looks of how few from the pride have already begun to peek out at them, noticing the commotion- she’s almost certain what kept this land’s king from lashing out at her again was the other lion’s fixed presence. She was in the way now, and if she wasn’t—would she even be fast enough to keep up with a lion half her years, and uninjured where she very much was? She was beginning to have a hard time keeping one of her eyes open between all the blood and fresh scratches surrounding it.

Coral visibly worked their jaw, seeming to search for the right set of words. Whatever combination could get them through the door. "I-it was my fault. She did nothing wrong, I was just-"

"I know." Unlucky for all of them he wasn't interested in any conversation. Lifting his head back and standing rigid as he blandly spoke into empty, dry air. "You hold near equal responsibility to she. That does not absolve her of culpability. Her lack of care toward accounting for your known antics and cumbersome lack of foresight has left you marred, and me smelling blood. Is that fine to you?"

The other lion didn't seem to know what to say to that. As time lumbered on in the charged, awkward silence between, Uno found herself watching their struggle grow more visible with each passing second. It was palpable, that feeling. Not just an unease but an unwillingness. And when it came down to it, she thinks she wouldn't want this to develop into a fight either. Although it was a touch too late for that now.

She almost missed it, too occupied watching the other lion battle her own wills. At some point Volukr's head had shifted back toward her. "I want you out. Get out of my home, stay away from my children."

"Vou!"

"No."

This time Coral grimaced. "But-.. but what about our promise? We… said we’d hold her until she was prepared to reach back home."

"She breached that agreement by leaving you to me."

For whatever reason, that response had been immediate. Meanwhile his next words came several moments after. Just spent staring. "We will take care of her still. There is an ally neighboring here with just enough room spared. I’m certain we can settle arrangements for her stay with them. Let it be known I am not one to dishonor my agreements. But otherwise? We are done."

He'd flick her blood off his claws and turn to leave as it scattered across the dying earth. That seemed to be the end of it in his mind.

"You will leave come morning, understood? Don’t come back here."

Story:
There was confusion abound when Uno arrived come first light. King Couteau, as it seemed, couldn’t decide how to feel regarding said arrangement. Or—more accurate, perhaps—didn’t know how best to tailor his actions to fit the situations presented. His first response was to delegate, going about his own erratic outings as he left his first lieutenant to greet the guest.
His handling was stalwart, as with all things he did, but the delivery rather cold. That is until his sibling entered the picture. Reverie mighn’t have made things too much more lively, but they certainly knew how to rouse actual emotions from the lion. He grew more comfortable, and had begun being looser with the traveler.

Ever a hospitable host, Cob had brought forth a suggestion one weekend. Being a traveler, one for stories—Uno certainly must enjoy a night dedicated to them, right? Couteau just so happened to be around and overheard this, immediately then making it everyone else’s problem by expanding the range of it to their entire pride, including that of some neighbors. And so they would do just that; ensuring all preparations would be ready. Although mostly, it was Cob, Nil and Nell doing the prep-work. Couteau having, in the meantime, supposedly toiled away off on his own and declaring that no one should disturb him as he had as he had important arrangements of his own to plan for.

Many laughs and musings were shared that evening. And when the chattering was done, and all steadily began to disperse, Uno found herself ensuring she bid goodbye to each of the faces that once greeted her so shortly just months prior. It was during a conversation with another lion that Cob approached her, gifting leg wrappings made of the feathers of fowl.

He apologized profusely, stating that though he couldn’t make up for the new marks on her skin, perhaps if she had more protection that could suffice as a start to making up for it. The bandings would faintly glow and shimmer, almost seeming to resemble the flames his familiar would spit out at times of danger, or to be bratty.

Before anymore could be said however he bid her goodnight. She thought that would be it until being approached by yet another.

Couteau had waited late into the night prior to approaching her again. His nose would twitch as the rest of his body shifted stiffly in place. The expression on his face—-it wasn’t quite deliberating so much as it was hesitant. Until his eyes caught on the wrappings she held under paw, anyway. Would linger on them for a few seconds longer. Then seemed to huff through his set jaw as he nudged two small fur-bindings towards her with his gaze finally flitting away.

“He’s.. an ass.” The young King would grumble, almost mumbling if not for the grinding of his teeth. It was unclear who he was talking about, precisely. The sentiment seemed to carry out to more then one individual. Namely though, she recognized the fur patches as some of her own cloak. However long it took him to find in the past weeks, and wherever he’d picked up those scraps torn from her cowl, she couldn’t well know. And certainly, she wasn't going to get a straight answer out of him. But she would always be grateful to have them back to her still, even in just this small way.

Just a few weeks later, and she had left for adventure once more.

Story: Weary paws disturbed the little tufts of dried grass that dotted the dusty savannah. Mustafa plagued the edges of her thoughts, her poor cub. Even through it all, she wouldn't go a day without missing her. The lioness lifted her chin, panting as the powerful sun bore down upon her heavy shoulders. Heat waves wobbled at the edge of a narrow slope, the plains before her expanding into a small patch of shade. It was dotted with a few trees, accompanying an auburn rock face with the large gaping mouths. Amidst the caves stood a lion that exuded power and wealth, vibrant eyes surveying the many lionesses that lounged amongst each other. Uno took a tentative step back as the lion met her apprehensive gaze, but was only met with a charming smile. Round ears flicked curiously, and she wandered down the slope to greet him. His mane shimmered in the sunlight, golden tufts surrounding a handsome face. Upon his head adorned a crown of honeybush, and his pelt smelled of honey and vibrant bellflowers.
"What's a damsel doing so far from her pride?" He cooed, running his tail under her neck. Uno swallowed nervously, feeling heat creep up her face. "I-I travel these lands, in search of stories to bring home. It's... refreshing, being able to witness so many things." She felt herself hoping for his reply, whiskers twitching at the silky sound of his voice. "Intriguing." He began, tilting his head as he beckoned her toward the center of his abode. "I suppose you could stay here for a while, to rest your tired legs." An enrapturing smile burst from his maw, and Uno found herself looking at him for far too long. "I'm Anoscetia, quite the pleasure to meet you." He chuckled, eyes glinting in amusement as Uno tore herself from his gaze."My name is Uno." She mumbled, looking down at her paws. She hadn't has much trouble speaking to lions before this... it was troubling, but yet, in a sense, exhilarating.
The two spent the rest of the day chatting with each other, and soon Uno grew quite comfortable in his soothing presence. That night they snuggled together under the stars, grooming away any dust from each other's pelts. Anoscetia had presented her with a beautiful flower the morning after, taking great care to place it gently over her ear. He had pressed his nose against hers in a romantic farewell, granting her as much food she could eat before bidding her farewell. The traveler stared back over her shoulder many times that day, her smile fond and heart fluttering. Perhaps, one day she would return, just to be in his embrace once again.

Story: After being wizzed off her feet by Anoscetia, Uno had high hopes for her next adventure. She was getting older now, but she didn’t feel a day over two years. It was as if she was in her prime again, ready and raring to go, but she could admit that she missed the warm reception of the pride before. She wandered the increasingly dry savannah. Why, oh, why did it have to be a permanent dry season right now? A grumble erupted from her stomach as she looked around for food, but instead, all she could see was rotting carcasses and bones. With a sigh, she ignored the angry growls coming from her belly and headed onwards.

A little while ahead, a leoponess and a tigoness could be found, lounging in the sun outside their den. Their cubs, seemingly full lionesses, played and tussled together, but stopped in their tracks and stared as the shadow of a lioness approached. ”Mama… there’s a strange lioness here.” At that, the pair of hybrids rose to their feet and walked towards Uno, smiles plastered upon their faces. ”Are you lost, ma’am?” The leopon spoke, red eyes studying her carefully. “I haven’t seen you around here before. Do you belong to a nearby pride?” Uno hesitated, but soon cleared her throat and spoke. “I’m not from around here. I’m a traveller, from Inti del Sol’s pride. My father decided it would be best to send me out across the lands, to return with stories to tell my pride.” The tigoness then nodded in approval, before raising a large paw to her chest. “Well then, it’s lovely to meet ya’! I’m Nevermore, and my pretty friend here is Forevermore. These cubs are our newest arrivals. Charming, aren’t they?” Uno felt a lump form in her throat as the she-beast spoke of cubs. She had… lost hers. She didn’t have a cub to show off or call her own. Mumbled speaking encapsulated her but soon she was knocked out of her trance by a delicate leopon paw taping her shoulder. “Are you okay?” Uno’s eyes flicked towards her, nodding enthusiastically, but her vibes were unsure. “What?” Forevermore looked on with concern but decided to ignore it. “What’s your name? We can take you to see our king.” She spoke quickly, spitting out that her name was Uno before she was lead towards the main males quarters. Once they’d approached, a soft, almost childlike voice called out from beneath the depths of the cave. “Come in. I’ve been awaiting your arrival.”

Uno didn’t expect to see such a small, young lion when she went inside, but she took it in her stride, bowing courteously to him. The pair of hybrids had left them now, and they were all alone, engulfed by the dark. “Hello, Uno. Your story has intrigued me. The girls mentioned that you are a traveller. Tell me more.” He lifted his tail, and patted the spot beside him for her to join him, to which she did, relaxing within his grasp. She began to speak of her travels, the good times and the bad, even about those she had lost. He gasped aloud hearing about her cub, before he whispered something in her ear. Her cheeks began to heat up, and she nodded. I wonder, what happened that fateful night?
