Palomides - [they are unchristened, they have a desire for perfection]
YAY I FROZE MY BBY
[Interactions]
- You noticed some pinkness on the top of Palomides's ears and nose. Sunburnt again?
- You were wondering what a weird squealing sound was coming from, and you investigate to find Palomides batting around a young meerkat. It's still alive.
- Other lions in your pride used to tease Palomides about their weird appearance, until they started a rumor that he was favored by the spirits. Nobody wanted to mess with that.
- You were playing a game of hide and seek with Palomides. He was hiding in the tall grass. Yeah. "Hiding".
- At noon, you saw Palomides sleeping in the shade of a tree, out of the sun. You realized that the midday sun is harsh on his pale eyes...
- Palomides played a practical joke on the cubs, stalking up while making weird noises and pretending to be a spirit! It was funny until the cubs refused to sleep that night.
- The sun glistened off of Palomides's fur, and you told him how attractive he looked today. If he blushed, you couldn't see it.
- You greet Palomides and he just smirks at you, licking some blood from his latest kill off his paw.
It was a morning like any other. King Odysseus rose from his slumber slowly, glancing down to the sleeping lioness at his side. As he glanced around the Gem Cave all was well. Until a sharp, wailing cry of a newborn cub pierced the early morning air. That's right - Head Lady Aine was delivering today.
"KIng Odysseus! Come quickly!" The sound the pounding paws snapped him from his thoughts, as he looked up to see Sister Oma panting at the entrance to the den. "Head Lady Aine has brought you a son, and three other daughters, and-" King Odysseus rose without a word, striding to the cave entrance.
As he exits the Gem Cave, more lionesses and the young Pax, the previous king, Dante's, last son bounced around at the front of the Den of Ancients.
"Lemme innn!" He whined, trying to butt his way in past the chittering lionesses.
"Pax," Odysseus booms, and everyone silences. They all look towards their king, bowing their heads. Pax, being young and ignorant of tradition does no such thing, instead bounces over winding under his legs and talking a mile a minute. "Pax, slow down young one," He says, shaking his mane out and herding the young lion to stand still in front of him. "What is wrong?"
"Your son!" he starts, tail standing straight up. "He was white, pure white! Like...well, I don't know what like, but he's white!" Confused, the king makes his way towards the entrance of the Den. The lionesses part a path as he descends into the earth.
Inside, the wailing of cubs was prominent, as Mother Cosette fretted over the newly born cubs and Head Lady Aine, while Shaman Tanet prepared the blessing ritual.
"Odysseus!" Mother Cosette looks up, not needing to use his title because of her own status. "Look, three daughters, and an albino son," She steps away. Looking down at the four sucklings and their mother, Odysseus blinked.
"They're..."
"Perfect?" Lady Aine supplements, smiling cheekily.
"Yes, I....Thank you." Aine only laughs, beckoning him over with her head.
Ages later, he says,
"I will live to see generation after generation of this pride," Palomides is looking out over the pond with a wide grin on his face, his eyes landing on each of the many lions below, a love so deep within them you find it hard to describe. "My sisters are now gone but I will carry the memory of them, and our father, our mother, with me forever," he closes his eyes and tilts his face up towards the sky, his wide, pure white wings fluttering. "I am truly blessed."
